    We are an award-winning hostel situated on the Rio Buritaca, around 10 minutes by car from the Caribbean coast of Colombia. We run a Foundation from the hostel that runs educational, sporting and environmental projects to positively impact our local community.

    FOR THE HOSTEL:

    1. We are looking for someone with WEB DESIGN and marketing knowledge that can help with some website tweaks and marketing tips also some other extra help for our team around.

    2. Year-round, we are looking for YOGA teachers, artists, CARPENTERS or people who really want to have a good time being part of our volunteer family.

    we have a great GENERAL VOLUNTEERING opportunities.

    4. We are also now looking for an ACTIVITIES VOLUNTEER TO START FROM JANUARY someone to support our Volunteers manager Anyelica to run activities for guests entertainment. for example, Volleyball tournaments, hype tubing, run speed dating and Scavenger hunts and organize beach and waterfall trips. It's a very brilliant role.
    Need to be very friendly.

    For the FOUNDATION, we are currently full for 2022 but in 2023 we are looking for:

    1. COMMUNITY ENGLISH teacher to teach our hostel staff - starting in March 2023.
    2. Foundation activities volunteer - to start from July 2023
    3. Photographer/Film maker - From Feb 2023
    4. Community English teachers/Academic Tutors to work with local children starting in March 2023.

    1. Community English teacher - Hostel staff - run one and one and small group sessions to teach job specific English. Must have at least intermediate Spanish and be available for 2 + months - starting in March -There is also the opportunity to go out into our local community to work with the children as well :)

    2. Foundation activities volunteer – This role is to promote our daily Foundation activities to hostel guests and encourage them to come along and volunteer with us. It is also to drive on site fundraising, especially on Foundation Wednesdays. There is also the opportunity to go out everyday and support fun sport or arts sessions with kids in our local area. We are looking for someone who is fun, sociable, reliable and who is happy to approach all guests staying in the hostel to tell them about the Foundation. Sales and sports coaching experience hugely preferable. Spanish speaking also desirable but not essential. Next opportunity July 2023.

    3. Film makers and photographers to make a short film/great photo content to promote our Foundation - welcome from Feb 2023.

    4. From Jan, we are looking for Community English teachers/Academic Tutors to work in our local town to help children who didn't go to school for nearly two years. Intermediate Spanish+ and teaching experience essential. Must be able to stay for 2 months+ and the longer the better.

    If you're coming before December, we do welcome guest volunteers or ppl staying close by to come and support our activities, as we now have activities every day in our local community.

    Also for the Foundation, we are always on the look-out for:

    • Environmental education expert or someone who has experience in setting up recycling infrastructure - opportunity available from June 2023
    • And sports coaches with cool new sports (Spanish speaking preferable but not essential) - please let us know which sport.

    We can offer all 3 meals and accommodation, most likely in a small shared dorm (2 - 4 ppl) or larger shared dorm for more general volunteering, and discounted drinks, in exchange for 5 hours help a day. (5 days a week).

    Our site is a stunning 2-hectare plot of land with a unique river beach and natural pool. We enjoy daily visits from humming birds and howler monkeys and the Caribbean is a 25-minute walk away.
    We also have a wide variety of activities available in and around the hostel: table tennis, pool, paddleboards, volleyball, football, tubing and loads of amazing beaches: Parque Tayrona, waterfalls, entrance to lost city, sunrise hike and much more.

    Palomino, Parque Tayrona, Minca, Santa Marta, Taganga and La Guajira desert are all perfect day off excursions. The collectivo bus that runs between Santa Marta and Palomino is 10 minutes from the property, we can also organise transport to take you to and from Buritaca.

    We are 25 minutes from the ocean and there are plenty of walks in the hills close by. Rancho Relaxo and Costeño Beach are our closest neighbours, both of which are great for any time off.
