    Lovely backpackers,

we are Martina from Germany (Munich) and José from Colombia (Bogotá) and we are the lucky owners of this new hostel in Bogotá. With us you'll definitely meet two Colombia enthusiasts - one by birth, the other one by heart. We love to share everything we know about or have experienced in Colombia and are also open to hear all of your travel stories!

Our volunteering here feels more like hanging out in a big family, so we are looking for fun and open minded travelers, who want to share the experience of opening a new hostel together and be the first ones to greet our new guests. We want to show you the real Bogotá - with its cultural events, its diverse people, and its crazy club scene. There’s definitely a lot to do, so why don’t you join our local staff and help us turn this place into another success story? Only you can give the hostel the vibe every backpacker is looking for. And don’t worry about any cleaning duties, we will not be using you for anything like that during your stay with us. All your duties are going to be as a support for one of our local staff. But please keep in mind that we don’t offer any bar position for workaway volunteers.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

You are going to be located in Bogotá, the crazy capital also known as Bogotham. :D
Luckily you’re going to stay in a hostel that is owned by a Rollo (that’s how people from Bogotá are called) with the soul of a true Caleño. That being said, you will receive a lot of insider information regarding the city, different accents and the country in general. Anything you need to know, we’re happy to answer. Also the cultural offer in Bogotá is amazing, so if you’re willing to learn about the country and its people, you’re definitely in a good place. On top of that we have a lot of Salsa knowledge in peto, so you’ve got the cultural immersion of Bogotá and some influence of the Salsa Capital of the world.

    Help

We are looking for volunteers supporting our local front desk staff with the task of checking people in and out as well as handling the bed sheets. Obviously you will get a personal introduction and training as well as a shift manual to check things you don't remember.

Also, we’re always open for any artistic volunteering! If you happen to have a talent in painting murals, we offer you one of our walls with pleasure. :)

The most important thing however is, that we need you to bring a fun and relaxed vibe to the hostel! Plus, maybe you need to become a professional petter of our beloved dogs called Muñeca or Kloe that sometimes come to visit.

Last but not least: we’re not offering any bar position to workaway volunteers.

    Accommodation

We have a separate volunteer room with a capacity for 4 people and a private bathroom waiting for you. You’re going to sleep in a bunk bed with privacy curtains, a personal shelf, a night lamp and one electricity outlet. We provide huge lockers to store your belongings, a little communal shelf for the day to day and a full body mirror so you know what you look like before stepping out of your nest for breakfast. This one is included and works DIY like. We offer you 2 eggs that you can prepare by yourself as you wish, as well as cereal, granola, oatmeal, milk, coffee, tea, chocolate spread, marmalade, peanut and regular butter.

Please take into account that we cannot accommodate couples or a group of travelers at the moment.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There's a million of things that you can do with your time off in the capital of Colombia.

    - Take any of the tours recommended by us
    - Explore Bogotás artsy neighborhoods like Teusaquillo or San Felipe for example
    - Stroll around the massive artesanal market in Usaquen on the weekend
    - Rent a bike and explore Chapinero by yourself
    - Take part in the Ciclovia on Sundays
    - See a concert of the Philharmonic Orchestra or check out any other concert around the city
    - And the list goes on and on…

But if you just want to leave city life behind and escape into nature, we can recommend:
    - Hike to the Maya reserve
    - Enjoy the trail of Quebrada la Vieja
    - Take the teliferico to Monserate and see the city from above

Also feel free to explore your talents with our „hostel support program for travelers“, which allows you to sell desserts, food, events or whatever comes to your mind! Just let us know what you have been thinking of and we set up a way to make it possible.

All in all it definitely will not get boring for you, trust us!
