  Description

  Kia ora! We are a warm and welcoming family living in the stunning seaside village of Leigh, just a short walk from the breathtaking Matheson Bay. Our home is filled with adventure, fun, and the energy of four beautiful children (aged 7, 4, and twin two-year-olds).
  
  We are looking for a single female traveler (sorry no couples at this stage) who is keen to immerse herself in a cultural exchange experience, becoming part of our family while helping with childcare, light cleaning, cooking, and some work in our garden. The schedule will be varied, and in return, you’ll enjoy accommodation, meals, and the opportunity to explore our stunning local beaches and nature spots.
  
  If you love children, enjoy being active, and would like to experience the beauty of coastal New Zealand while being part of a fun and dynamic family, we’d love to hear from you!

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  We love spending time outdoors and making the most of our beautiful coastal surroundings. As part of our family, you’ll join us for beach trips, swimming at Matheson Bay, bike rides, and nature walks.
  
  There’s a strong sense of community in Leigh, and you’ll have the chance to connect with locals, experience small-town Kiwi life, and make new friendships. You will have plenty of down time during the week when kids are at school and preschool that you can enjoy visiting local markets, community events and exploring the area/
  
  By joining our family, you’ll get hands-on experience in childcare, family life, and home management in a busy but loving household. If you're interested in gardening, home-cooked meals, or learning more about kiwi family-friendly activities, we’d be happy to share our knowledge. I work part-time in marketing and leadership development, so I can also share insights into these areas. Additionally, we can introduce you to New Zealand culture, traditions, and local insights that you won’t find in a travel guide.
  
  What We Hope to Learn by Hosting People from Different Cultures:
  We love meeting people from around the world and learning about different cultures, languages, and traditions. Hosting a Workawayer allows our family—and especially our children—to broaden our perspectives and gain an appreciation for different ways of life. We’re always curious to hear about your experiences, favorite foods, customs, and stories. It’s a wonderful way to create meaningful connections and build lifelong friendships while sharing our home and lifestyle.

  We are a multicultural family - my kids hertigage is Kiwi, Dutch, Maori and Cook Islander. Whilst we only speak english at home we know basics of Maori and Dutch and always keen to learn more languages.

  You will have your own room in our family home which is located 5 minutes walk from the beautiful Matheson bay as well as the leigh local shops. Unlimited wifi as well.

  What else ...

  There’s plenty to explore locally if you love the outdoors, from scenic nature walks to stunning beaches just minutes away. Nearby Matakana offers a charming mix of vineyards, boutique shops, a movie theatre, and great eateries, making it a perfect spot for a day trip.
  
  As a family home with young children, we maintain a calm and respectful environment, so late nights and drinking aren’t part of our routine. However, you’re more than welcome to venture out and explore the area at your own pace!
