Description
We are excited to welcome friendly, open-minded people from around the world into our family life!
We live on a large property surrounded by nature, with a fruit and vegetable garden and plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors. Our family includes two children, Grandma and Grandpa, and our two friendly dogs. Because of our dogs, we kindly ask our guests not to bring pets.
German is our native language, we speak English well, and we are currently learning Spanish. We especially enjoy cultural exchange and would love to host people who speak German, Spanish, or English.
Our location
🌊 Only about 10 minutes from a beautiful nature reserve and the beach
🏙 Around 15 minutes from the nearest city
🛒 About 10 minutes to the nearest supermarkets and shops
🚐 A mobile village grocery store visits our area twice a week
🚌 There is a bus service, although it does not run very frequently
Having your own car is an advantage but not required.
Important to us
We value nature, respect, kindness, and a healthy lifestyle.
🚭 We are looking for non-smokers only.
If you would like to experience family life in Germany, enjoy nature, learn new skills, and share your own knowledge and culture with us, we would love to hear from you!
We look forward to meeting you! 😊 -

Help
Working Hours, Activities, Food and Cultural Exchange
We ask for help for a maximum of 5 days per week, around 4 hours per day. You will have at least 2 full days off per week.
It is important to us that you have plenty of free time to explore the area, relax and enjoy your stay.
What activities can we share?
Depending on the season, the weather and our current projects, activities may include:
🌱 Gardening and Growing Food
We work together in our fruit and vegetable garden. Activities may include sowing, planting, watering, weeding, pruning plants and shrubs, composting and harvesting.
We would like to develop our garden step by step, grow more of our own fruit and vegetables and work in a natural and sustainable way whenever possible.
We are happy to welcome guests who already have experience in organic gardening, permaculture or self-sufficient living and would like to share their knowledge with us. At the same time, no previous experience is required – people who are interested and willing to learn are equally welcome.
🍎 Cooking, Baking and Food Preservation
Depending on the season, we can cook and bake together and process fruit, vegetables and herbs from our garden.
This may include canning and preserving food, making jams and other homemade products, trying different methods of food preservation and fermenting foods.
We enjoy sharing recipes, knowledge and experiences and would also love to discover dishes and culinary traditions from our guests' home countries.
🔨 Practical and DIY Projects Together
My husband regularly works on his own practical and DIY projects around our home, garden and property.
If interested, Workawayers are welcome to join him, help with simple tasks and learn basic practical skills and how to use tools.
These projects are carried out together. My husband is responsible for the planning, guidance and supervision of the projects.
For us, the focus is on working together, sharing knowledge and learning practical skills from each other. We are not looking for Workawayers to replace professional workers or local tradespeople with unpaid help.
🎨 Creativity and Shared Projects
Small creative projects, upcycling and making simple things for our home and garden together may also be part of the stay.
We welcome people who enjoy sharing their own ideas, creativity and skills and who would like to try, learn or create something together.
👨👩👧👦 Family Life and Occasional Childcare
Occasionally, you may spend time with our children, play with them, do creative activities together or help us with childcare for short periods as part of our everyday family life.
Childcare is not the main reason why we host Workawayers, but it may occasionally be part of sharing our family life.
🍽️ Food and Shared Meals
As part of the exchange, we provide food and ingredients for three meals per day.
We enjoy cooking and sharing meals together regularly. However, because of our family routine, we cannot share every meal and we do not necessarily eat together every day.
Workawayers have their own well-equipped kitchen in the caravan. When we do not eat together, you can prepare your own meals there using the food and ingredients we provide.
We also enjoy cooking and baking together, exchanging recipes and discovering dishes and culinary traditions from other countries. For us, sharing food and learning from each other are also important parts of cultural exchange.
🌿 What Is Especially Important to Us
We are happy to welcome people who enjoy being outdoors, helping in the garden, doing practical or creative activities, cooking and preserving food, or occasionally spending time with children.
Your own knowledge, ideas, experiences and skills are very welcome. We do not only want to share what we know – we also want to learn from our guests.
Our main reason for hosting Workawayers is cultural and personal exchange.
We would like to spend time together, share languages, knowledge, skills and experiences, and learn from each other. German is our native language, we speak English well and we are learning Spanish.
We want our guests to have the opportunity to experience our family life, our nature-oriented lifestyle and everyday life in our region of Galicia.
At the same time, we respect our guests' privacy and independence and hope to create a relaxed and respectful atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable. -
