    Description

    🌞 Far North hosts looking for Workaway adventurers throughout Spring and Summer - we have a beautiful 22acre rural lifestyle block 30mins south from Kaitaia . Mainly native bush, gardens and lots of big sky views.

    We need extra hand preparing for the season ahead 👋👋… with general tasks 3 hrs a day.
    There are a variety of things to help with - such as gardening, firewood collection, painting, domestic chores and paddock weeding etc… we have chickens, a goat, cow and two dogs that will all love your attention too 🥰

    For the right Workaway Helpers that are keen - we also offer house-sitting extenstions, with opportunities multiple times per year to allow us to get away on holiday. In this instance no set hours of work are needed, just trust worthy and responsible house sitters who can look after our home and pets, whilst we are away. Message us if this is of interest.

    We ask that helpers are non-smokers and have a positive attitude and good common sense to get stuck into tasks. 💪

    In exchange we have a very comfortable bedroom (queen bed) with your own private bathroom. Your evening meal with us is included and you have full wifi access (if you want it)
    Otherwise it’s a great place to escape ‘offline’ enjoy the views and starry night skies.

    We love to bbq and are keen meat eaters - enjoying raising and eating our own meat. We do not provide separate vegetarian or vegan evening meal options.

    Ideally we like helpers here for 1 week. (option to extend for housesitters with referenes too depending on timing)
    You are welcome to combine work hours to allow for days off and travel 👍 Cape Reinga and the beaches are very popular!

    We are a married couple who are both originally from the UK who have made NZ their home. We were keen travellers and have a good knowledge of Europe - but love to hear and learn more ourselves.

    We have lived in the Far North for over 9 years and can share our knowledge and insights of the area and culture, including the best places to visit and beaches to walk!

    There are always chores on a lifestyle block, we need support with general tasks 3hrs a day, such as gardening, planting vegetables, moving mulch and compost, pet sitting, paddock weeding, fence painting etc… building experience would be awesome as there are always repairs and small build projects happening. We also have opportunity for the right helpers to extend their stay and house-sit and pet-sit for us while we go on holiday.

    Helpers need to have their own transport.

    Our home is located down a long gravel (unsealed) road and is very much in the countryside! Our driveway is steep and we can help you with navigating this confidently 👍

    There are heaps of local walks, swims and adventures in the close area with beaches and bush surrounding the Far North to explore. Kaitaia is our closest town for groceries 30mins by car.
