Description
Our scout Centre is a meeting place for scouts, no matter whether they are Romanian or come from abroad but also for other people interested in the area and finding out more about Romania and the scout movement and pottery here. It is hosted in a 250 year old house that is full of soul and personality, situated in southern Transylvania, 35 km away from Sibiu in the village of Nocrich. We have a pottery workshop where we try to restart a craft. We create pottery object and paint them with glasures. You can learn a lot about ceramics and pottery.
We are part of The National Organization of Romanian Scouts, a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, a movement which tries to provide education for life. Scouting offers young people the chance to engage in various activities, it creates new opportunities for them and it encourages diversity and equality, linking new friends. Scouting empowers the practice of democracy, developing the potential of every individual and groups alike, making them responsible and accountable and instilling clear values.Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
Each summer we have volunteers from all across the world (we had 100 volunteers from more than 10 different countries in previous years) who come to help us with pottery workshop help, gardening, woodcraft, activities for the kids, administrative work, cooking and taking care of the garden, welcoming guests and helping them with different activities. We have a pottery workshop, a big barn for activities, a library, a lot of nature around the village and many, many other things.
The house is still under development so we also have to do administrative tasks like cutting wood, making reparations. Our scout centre will provide housing and we have utilities such as a fully equipped kitchen, internet. Cooking will be done together with other volunteers and you will take turns in the kitchen.
For the time being we are mostly searching for volunteers who can help us in the pottery workshop. If you are good in paining we can teach you how to work with ceramics and how to paint different pots.
We are looking for volunteers who can spend minimum one month here.Languages
