    Description

Hi, I’m Carlo 39 y.o. and originally from The Netherlands. I live near Quatretondeta (800m) in the Alicante mountains in a beautyful valley. I travelled around Europe in my campervan for three years before settling here in 2024 on the campo. I’m working on my own home with campervan repairments and run a small campsite next to it to receive guests as well. The house runs mainly on solar power and uses village water wich comes from there own source.

I’d like to host two or three friends/partners who know each other and are happy to share a wooden chalet. The chalet has a kitchen with cooking plates, microwave and a watercooker, one double bed and a smaller sofa bed, plus a wood-burning stove. Recently there is installed an A/C unit wich can cool and heat as well when there is plenty of electricity available. There is a guest shower and an eco-toilet on the property and also an outside kitchen with bbq. The whole place has wifi everywhere wich works great. Also there is 5G signal, depending of your provider. The baker can stop here 6 days per week if you are interested in local food/products to buy.

I mostly welcome help in the garden. Depending on the season, there is planting, general garden work and olive picking coming soon. I also have small woodwork tasks, such as sanding, painting and varnishing. These are tasks on my own property. Workawayers will not help with paying guests or work in spaces used by them. It’s around four hours per person a day, five days a week. The tasks are outside and physical, but no special experience is needed.

I provide meals and accommodation for the whole stay, including free days when you stay here. If you go away on a free day, you arrange your own food for that day. I have three cats: Tara, Tigre and Oro. Outside help hours, you’re free to explore the mountains and nearby villages. There are many great hikes! Please tell me who would come and when you’d like to visit.

You can get hands-on experience with seasonal gardening, olive trees and the practical care of a rural, solar-powered home. You can see how to live offgrid and selfsufficiënt. As a group of friends or travel companions, you can work with me through the tasks together. Outside the agreed work hours, you’re free to use your time as you like and explore the mountain paths and nearby villages.

There are mountain walks and small villages nearby, and the pool is open in summer. The property runs mainly on solar power. My three cats are Tara, Tigre and Oro.

    Accommodation

Workawayers stay in my wooden chalet, separate from the camper area where paying guests stay. It can sleep up to three friends: there is one double bed and a smaller sofa bed. It has a kitchenette and a wood-burning stove. The guest shower and eco-toilet are nearby. Wi-Fi is available everywhere. The pool is open in summer. I provide food on work days and on free days if you stay here. If you go away on a free day, you arrange your own food while you’re away. The exchange is around four hours of help per person per day, five days a week.

    What else ...

Quatretondeta is rural, with no public transport nearby, so a car is useful if you want to explore independently. I go shopping once or twice a week and can usually take you along for groceries. A local baker also passes the gate around midday 6 days per week.

From time to time, there are guests in the separate camper area. Please leave the chalet and tools tidy. Smoking is allowed outside only.
