    Description

Hello, I look forward to welcoming you onto my mountain paradise situated in northern NSW. The beautiful beaches of Byron bay, Brunswick heads, Kingscliff, Snapper etc are all 35-60minutes drive away. Mount warning, Wollumbin national park is where we are situated it is a spiritually and environmentally significant rainforest area in Australia. Uki is the closest little village with its eclectic mix of art, temples, pub and a couple of local shops there. This part of Australia is known for its back to roots approach of organic living and permaculture, with many local markets offering local farmers produce, all types of hand made products etc.

My passion and career has been in herbal medicine as a 30yr experienced naturopath and midwife. I have now diverged more into natural building and love everything life has to offer. I am a non drinker and non smoker for the most part and would prefer alcohol and drugs not to be present on the property. I love socialising and chatting around a good fire with good company and great food. Then also love retreating into this mountain paradise to recharge and reconnect. The possibilities are endless here

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

This amazing part of northern nsw is a cultural hub for music, art, organic food, permaculture, spirituality practices and tourists from all over the world come here. There are many spaces to connect with others here from workshops on a huge range of topics ran all the time, Uki has a hall with dance, yoga, meditation and many other activities ran there. I personally have 30 years experience as a naturopath, herbalist, nutritionist and would love to share my practical knowledge with you. I love bushwalking and foraging medicinal and edible foods from the magical rainforest property and area. I have a huge interest in natural building techniques and really stoked to share and discuss on these topics too. Truly love learning and sharing knowledge on just about all subjects and would especially love to learn your language if you are here long enough. I have a little understanding of French. I too have travelled so love a good chat round a fire. Always up for learning anything you bring to the table. Oh and of course food, always up for sharing great food recipes and using the fresh food and herbs from the garden.

  • Help

    Help

The type of tasks would include helping in the existing organic, permaculture inspired gardens and creating more. I would love to share my knowledge on herbalism and growing medicinal plants and edible food forest planting. Help with the animals and caring for enclosures and general everyday property tasks. Most tasks are outdoors and suited to someone who loves nature, gardening and having a go. Currently I am building an outdoor kitchen from cob and stone, with natural building projects being a massive passion of mine. I would be doing tasks along side you most of the time, however if you desire time alone there is plenty of space on the property for help alone space too. Occasionally I have a friend or two pop in to help aged between 20-60.

This host offers a language exchange
I have been in contact with French my whole life and learnt it to different levels over the years but feel back to a beginner atm due to having no practice. So on a rainy day or just when we need a rest from outdoors I’d love a chat or help with learning, practicing and progressing in any language but French being one I’m already adapt too.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

There is a lovely caravan in a stunning spot on the property. It has solar power and a little kitchenette. There is a dining table and lounge chairs all beautifully maintained. The custom size mattress is between a double and queen size. There is a communal space with a bigger lounge space, kitchen, shower and toilet a short under a minute walk away. All bedding provided and towel. You have an amazing view of Mount Uki and are situated not far from the magic creek. Happy to provide 3 meals a day with morning tea and any veggies and fruit and eggs on the property are yours to enjoy too.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

A 4x4 is essential to drive right into the property however it is totally fine to park in the parking space within the gate and walk to your accomodation.

There is a bus service into murwillbah and from there to the beaches. However a car is preferred to get around here. I am happy for you to jump in with me if I am heading out for the day too.

Locally there are many swimming holes, bush walks, little villages to discover, an art gallery, beaches including Lennox head, Byron bay, Brunswick heads, Kingscliff, snapper all 30 -60 minutes away and Gold Coast shopping, fun parks etc an hour away. Mullumbimby just over Mount Jerusalem is 45 mins away
