Description
Hello! My name is Meredith, I’m from the United States. I just graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in criminology and sociology with a minor in peace studies and conflict resolution.
My favorite parts of university were always the moments outdoors and giving back to my community. I volunteered on various local service trips to learn more about the needs around me. I went to different parts of the US, such as Alabama and South Carolina, to help with natural disaster relief and supply distribution.
I also want to local state parks to help build infrastructure and learn more about local ecology! My family is from the Smoky Mountains, and I have spent lots of time hiking in central Appalachia. I also love music, specifically Appalachia folk music and bluegrass. I had a radio show for 2 years and I’m currently learning guitar!
Overall, I love learning and meeting new people!

More details about your skills
I worked on a small organic farm in Italy where I cleared terraces for gardening, harvested produce, and learned about sustainable agriculture practices.
Additionally, I’ve helped with natural disaster relief and emergency supply distribution throughout different parts of the southern US. I spent lots of time in college participating in community engagement work, such as volunteering at shelters and organizing drives.
I worked at a local state park in Virginia doing trail maintenance and construction, helping to build public infrastructure like decks and boardwalks.
I also helped with restorative justice work in public schools and interned at a conflict resolution center. I’ve had a few office jobs as well, so I’m happy to perform clerical tasks.
I’ve spent lots of time housesitting and dog sitting as well. I love animals and hanging out with them!
Due to this experience, I have basic knowledge of gardening and how to use a variety of tools (power drills, saws, etc). I would still classify myself as a beginner, but I love to learn new skills if you’re willing to teach!
Lastly, I used to be a music journalist as well as a radio DJ! I love music and art in general.
