    Description

Hi workaways, I live in Co Laois , just an hour from Dublin by train. It’s just the two of us- myself and my husband ( and our dog! ) We have a large house with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. I am a teacher and my husband is a physiotherapist. It’s a very central location and accessible to all parts of Ireland. It’s a beautiful part of the country with lovely walks and hikes in the Slieve Bloom mountains, and open swims in rivers and lakes close by. We also have a summer house in the west of Ireland. We are very involved in the local community - music, singing and Irish traditions. We are looking for someone to help with gardening as we have a large site. Willing to give English lessons and introduce you to Irish traditions.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are very involved in local activities which we could introduce you to- walking, hiking, swimming, music, dancing, singing and Irish traditions. We have a very active social life- members of a local band and singing group, bridge club, golf club and traditional music group. We are very active and love being out in nature. We enjoy walks in the forest adjoining our property, members of a hiking club in the local mountains, involved in a rowing club on the surrounding rivers, love wild swimming in the open rivers and seas. You are very welcome to join us in any of these activities that take your interest. We have a holiday home in the west of Ireland which we’re willing to share with you also. We have our family close by who would also involve you in activities if you wish.
We love having visitors from different parts of the world in our home as it enriches our lives too. We are fluent in English & Irish and are learning French and Spanish. We would love to learn your language and teach you ours. We look forward to learning about other cultures and traditions and look forward to sharing our home with you.
