Description
Hi everyone!
Update summer 2025!!
Hi folks!
I will be back to the cabin starting from first days of may! I'll be busy plantin hemp, chopping wood, make the maintenanance wich is quite often happening.. I'l probably buy a tool to make essential oils and this is gonna be so cool up there..
I run few yoga retreat so you you'll be luky to be there at that moment you'll experiance what does it means the phrase "i can not belive people from all over are coming in this wild place for something i organise".
I also planning to make a wood floor to the big tent to make the space super cozy...
The story:
I'm Luca and in October 2022 I rented a cosy little cabin right in the heart of the Orobie regional park, at 1500mts.
I decided it was about time to make my dream come true and to discover what it really means to spend a lot of time isolated in the mountain, although wild animals, being widely present, come to visit from time to time.
The cabin itself is blessed by the sun from sunrise to sunset, right from the middle of March throughout the whole summer. Drinkable water comes from a spring nearby and there's also a little stream which is just 50mts away. Electricity is provided by a solar panel and a generator too, and heat by a wooden stove and a gasoline heater. The cabin sits in the middle of the woods next to a hiking trail; fortunately not the main one, so during the week hikers are rarely spotted and at weekends there are only a few. From the nearest public car park - which is 90 minutes away - starts a dirt road which becomes a path that later on forks into various hiking trails that are trodden either in the summer and winter if you do ski touring.
The highest peak is the majestic Presolana (2500mts), which believe me, it really has the Dolomites feeling. There are severals climbing routes around and 30 minutes uphill there is a little crag, just next to a refuge called Rino Olmo.
Everything has been carried up here on my shoulders and recently I even converted a small cave behind the cabin into a sauna. Currently I'm restoring and cleaning out the entire place which used to be abandoned. I have in mind different projects: this summer I will host a yoga retreat run by a friend and I'm also going to plant hemp to make cbd oil only.
BTW...I'm not always around but I'm endevouring to spend as much time as possible at the cabin because I love this place, especially now that summer is coming. Last but absolutely not least, I have a six month old australian sheperd blumarlee, who no doubt is the boss! :)
Here's a place where you'll either be happy or not, it's black or white. The remote position of the spot quickly takes you up or down… You need to stand, so if you are not willing to accept the big impact of living here compared to the city, to appreciate the frugal lifestyle and different food, it is not your place. Above all, coming here with the idea of living softly in nature and maybe feeling better while you are going through a difficult period in life, does not work. It's hard, it's far from a sweet place with easy mountain walks... !Types of help and learning opportunities

I would like to offer you the possibility to spend time in a remote place; to be alone with yourself and understand that less is better if you belive it. To really experiance what does it means to live in a place isolated and reachable just by foot, without see a human been for days... Nature is our main teacher and here it's all about nature...

I need to carry down the timber from the forest and chop it. I have to prepare the garden for the hemp plantation, which means basicly to dig holes and set up the irrigation system.
To avoid wild animals entering into the garden I need to reinforce the fence around the cabin by covering it with tree branches. I also have to clean the cabin from the rubbish left from the old owner, clean and restore the bathroom.
If you know ave experiance in the web social/marketing stuff, you are as well more then welcom to help me with this part wich is totally unknow dor me..
BTW... I do love enjoying life too!!!!! Hence there is not a strict daily schedule to follow. I like to wake up around 7, work till 12 and then eat well and healthy. In the afternoon you can rest and feel free to explore...
If the forecast says that tomorrow is gonna be sunny we may work the all day and go hiking or other the next, make sense...?Languages spoken

there is a flat place hidden into the woods (5 minutes uphill from the cabin) where i fixed a canvas tent so you can have your private space, shared in case with other workers.. Also you're more than welcome to find your favorite spot and pitch your tent there, or mine, i have an extra tents.. ... plenty of land around! Food is strictly vegetarian (no meat allowed up here) and it's tasty although basic: enough for everyone but never too much. I prefer to avoid junk food for health reasons and to try to be as natural as possible. Of course I'm not strict and a glass of wine is welcome and often present, local cheese as well... It's not a place where you can grap whatever you want at any time.. there are things that can be eated in abbundance, others not. I will tell you day by day in order to avoid missunderstanding...
IMPORTANt: if you decide to come, you are agree to eat what i have, without compromise.. thanks to understand that up here i can't think and take care of your own taste and habits.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided, although I don't mind skipping lunch, expecially when I go hiking or skiing. It is not my custom to have breakfast but again, feel free to prepare your own as long as you're comfortable..:)!
BTW... remember that everything has to be carried up here, so think twice what to chuck into your backpack. What else ...
you can play in the nature.. Relax, go for a short walk o for a long hike. you can climb multipitch or a single route. you can explore the forest, pick up mushrooms, herbs, take a sun, read a book in the hammock under a tree, go to visit the near refuges if they are open.. There is tons of stuff to do and all are up to you. Is the opposite of to be in a city!
to go around you can use just your foot, and basicly you are already in the mountain so walk is the best option. if you don't have a car to go around it's a lot difficult in the region..A little more information
Internet access
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers
Can host families
Can host digital nomads
Here is the only place of the entire valley where you can get internet connection. It is not super fast but you can watch netflix and youtube video. I also work quite often online and I usually manage to have video calls. If you need to work remotly I can share my hotspot. Just be aware that if you need a super fast and perfect connection, this is not the best place as sometimes the net goes slow.. If you only need to surf, use social medias and send emails then it's perfect.
Can possibly accept pets
I have a little aussie and I run a startup about pets..so, if you have a pet you're welcome to bring it!!!
