Description
We are a warm and peaceful family of four looking forward to meeting new people and learning about different cultures. I work as a teacher, and my husband is self-employed. Our two children are still in school: our 16-year-old son is currently learning Spanish, so we would especially appreciate some help with Spanish tutoring. Our daughter is 18 years old and is also still attending school.
We also have a small Spitz dog and a cat as part of our family. We live in a quiet area on the edge of town with good connections nearby and enjoy a relaxed family life. Respect, friendliness, and a harmonious atmosphere are very important to us.
We are excited to share our daily life, culture, and enjoyable moments with our guests.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are happy to offer a friendly and relaxed cultural exchange experience. During August, I will be at home much more because I am on school holidays, so there will be plenty of opportunities to spend time together. I would be happy to show you around Vienna, share local tips, and recommend interesting places to visit, restaurants, cafés, and cultural highlights.
From September onwards, our daily routine becomes busier because we are at work during the day. However, our son usually comes home around 2 p.m., so there will still be interaction and family life in the afternoons.
We would love to welcome someone who enjoys becoming part of everyday family life while also having enough independence and free time to explore Austria and Vienna on their own.

Help
We are mainly looking for someone who can spend around 2 hours per day speaking and studying Spanish with our son, as he has an important re-exam coming up. The focus would be on conversation practice, vocabulary, and helping him feel more confident with the language.
Occasionally, it would also be helpful if you could take our small dog for a short walk. If you enjoy cooking, we would also appreciate some help preparing meals from time to time — but this is completely optional.
Apart from that, you will have plenty of free time to relax and explore the city and the surrounding area on your own.
Languages
Languages spoken
German: Fluent
English: Intermediate
Spanish: BeginnerThis host offers a language exchange
For the language exchange, we are specifically looking for Workawayers who are native Spanish speakers, as the main reason for our hosting experience is to help our son improve his Spanish skills. He has an important re-exam coming up, so daily conversation and language practice with a native speaker would be very valuable for him. We hope this will not only support his learning, but also create a genuine cultural and linguistic exchange where everyone can learn from each other.
Accommodation
Our Workawayers will stay in a private guest room in the basement level of our home. The room is furnished with a large double bed, a TV, and a wardrobe, offering a comfortable and quiet space to relax.
There is also a small bathroom with a shower and toilet on the same floor, which you can use on your own. Please note that the bathroom also contains our washing machine and dryer, so I may occasionally need access to it. Apart from that, the entire basement area is exclusively for you, giving you plenty of privacy and your own personal space during your stay.
What else ...
For Workawayers who enjoy nature and outdoor activities, our location is ideal. We live right next to the Lobau, Vienna’s largest protected natural area, which is perfect for cycling, walking, swimming, and relaxing in nature.
If you would like to explore Vienna’s city center, public transport is very convenient. There is a bus stop directly in front of our house, and the subway can be reached within just a few bus stops. From there, you can reach the city center in about 30 minutes and easily discover Vienna’s cultural sights, cafés, museums, and historic places.
We usually go to bed quite early in the evening, which means you will have a lot of free time and independence during your stay. We simply ask that if you come home later at night, you do so quietly and respectfully so everyone can rest peacefully.
My husband only smokes occasionally. If you are a smoker, we kindly ask you to smoke only in the garden.
