Description
Hi!! The Chozo became a Temple after years of exchange with volunteers and Friends from all over the world.
While we exchange and enjoy nature, this sacred spaces can go further: improve soil health, plant new local species, and create new basic infrastructure with wood, stone and recycled materials where creativity and cultural expression is the only way possible.
Let's have a chat, I am open and flexible to new ideas.
Looking forward to the Next adventure!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
It always depends on how much you can discover by yourself, but the contact with the local community is very close, they are already used to see foreigners and they always try their best. We are in one of the poorest region in Spain, but poor only if we talk about money. Our culture, traditions, nature and heritage is awesome.
I love our history and our environment, so probably I can share some info, stories, dreams with you.
Help
Volunteers are asked mainly to help in the daily gardening tasks, small maintenance activities, share delicious recipes, water the plants and be nice! :) At the moment I am improving watering system, soil conditions, planting trees and bushes.

Accommodation
The chozo is a temple. Volunteers can sleep and cook inside, during spring and summer, camping is possible (and recommended). A cozy double bed, kitchen, toilette, Electricity and Internet connetion works, good sound system and amazing ancient forest in silence.
Dogs, cats and birds live in the chozo too.
What else ...
As we live in a village, sport facilities (basket, tenis, football...), shops, bars and buses are available at anytime. I think the most atractive activity for the free time is hiking, there are thousand of paths! Also birdwatching or visiting neighbour towns.
Closest big towns: Sevilla - 190 km; Lisboa - 280 km; Badajoz - 56 km; Mérida - 70 km.

I miss already this place, but I'll come back in august! ;)
I really lived magical moments of sharing, laughing, traveling in the dehesa and I only want to come back!
Salvaleon is an incredibly beautiful little village, with people breathing the happyness of life!
His legacy in the chozo is not only the "silencina" (an amazing sculpture in a dead tree) and the wonderful windows/terrace, but also his energy and… read more
I had an amazing time in Salvaleon, This project is so original and I learnt a lot not only in construction but also about the area and history.
On project I felt more like a co-worker than volunteer, my thoughts and ideas were listened to and considered.

It started out very interestingly, participating in the carnival, dressed up and dancing through the streets, meeting lovely people from the town
