 - Description- Discover our historical windmill project in Mustjala, a small village on Saaremaa island. Surrounded by lush forests, tranquil lakes, the sparkling sea and seaside cliffs, this location offers a unique blend of serenity and adventure. Come, be a part of our team and help us restore this piece of history.
I am a 35 years old Belgian engineer, spending my summers on Saaremaa, working home office, while renovating the place and generally enjoying summer in nature and on the countryside.
 - Types of help and learning opportunities- Language practice - Gardening - DIY and building projects - Farmstay help - Creating/ Cooking family meals - Help around the house - General Maintenance

 - Cultural exchange and learning opportunities- I'm also learning more and more about restoration of old traditional buildings and all the different techniques and building technical knowledge involved, and I'm more than happy to share this (and to learn more).
Also food-wise, I'm keen to share my Belgian / Estonian / fusion cooking, and even more to learn new dishes and recipes!
 - Help- In a place like this, there is always a wide variety of things to do, but for this summer, the focus would be:
 - Treating and oiling the large wooden beams in the old mill and millers house. This is a relatively straightforward task, with no special skills needed, but it is very rewarding to see the result!
 - Lime painting the inside walls of the old mill building. This also shouldn't be too complicated, but it's important to get the mixture right. Depending on when you would be here this summer, you might be learning this skill together with me.. :)
 - All kinds of tasks in the garden, which I am trying to turn into an ecological paradise (after it has been a "green desert" plain lawn)

 - Accommodation- I have a nice bedroom on offer on the 3rd floor of the windmill, with views of the surrounding countryside. It has a simple bed and desk.
Depending on the phase the works are in, this bedroom will at some point turn into the working place, in which case I would offer accommodation in a different floor or in the old miller's house (again, depending on the state of the works).
As for food, I would just cook extra for any visiting workaway'ers, but an occasional offer to cook is of course more than welcome!
 - What else ...- Saaremaa public transport is not great, but it's cheap (1.5 euros for a ticket) and a bus stop is less than 100m from the windmill. So it's more than possible to visit Kuressaare on your free time.
I also have a couple of bikes available, so you can bike to the sea or other attractions in the area. A beautiful lake for swimming is within walking distance.
