    Description

Hello! We are a family of two, me and my son Vico who is 12 years old and we live in a flat close to the centre of Rome and 2 minutes away from a big park.
I have a degree in psychology and work as a researcher.
I am passionate about art (literature, painting, music, photography, cinema, dance and theatre).
I am an open and progressive person. I am also very outgoing, I like to converse and meet new people.
My son attends middle school. He loves music, science, technology and handicrafts. He is rather shy but has a very strong personality.
He says he wants to be an engineer.
I separated from my partner after a long relationship, he now lives in another flat and sees the kid regularly.
We have hosted two Aupairs, one from Hungary and one from Argentina, as well as a lovely Syrian girl who is now a close friend of ours.
We are looking for an active, independent and responsible person with an open and outgoing character and a good attitude towards children and young people. Creativity and playfulness are highly valued. My son has difficulties in maths and geometry, so if you have a degree in STEM and experience as an educator or teacher that would be great because I could really use someone to help him with his home tasks.
I don't ask for a big time commitment but accuracy, autonomy and the ability to cooperate with household chores.

The advantages of coming to live with us are the chance to live in a large and fascinating city rich in art and history and to live in a place full of greenery while remaining close to the centre.
I think I'm a friendly person (so they say) and I'd like the workawayer to feel like a person at home.

I am looking for a volunteer who can help me with my son and the household and who can have a language exchange with us. My son is an extremely intelligent boy but he has some attention issues, which is why he is not very independent in doing his homework. There is a teacher - tutor who comes to us twice a week but a little extra help, especially with maths would be very helpful. I ask my host to help with household chores as a housemate would, e.g. by cooking something, helping to keep the common areas (kitchen and living room) tidy, giving a hand when needed (e.g. hanging laundry, shopping at the supermarket). The heavier chores are done by a cleaning lady who comes once a week and by me.

The host will have a private room (it's small but anything is missing) and a private bathroom. A bicycle is available. We basically have a Mediterranean diet.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We live in a very quiet neighborhood, but nothing is missing (supermarkets, clubs, pubs, restaurants, gyms and swimming pools, language schools).
The main feature of our house is that it is located 100 meters from the entrance of a huge public park where the inhabitants of the neighborhood like to jog, walk and where many organize picnics during the weekend.
The ancient Roman city walls are just over a kilometer away.
The underground can be reached by walking for about 12 minutes. There are also buses that stop in front of our house and take you to the city center in about 30 minutes.
