Hi! Mi name is María. I am 40. I am an environmental engineer and i live in México City where i am working as an independent professional. Although i love the city, I just moved to a nice quiet little town nearby. It is 150km away from México City (kind of 1.5 hours by car). The idea is to be close enough to the City and be able to live also in peaceful, country style environment. So now, i am fixing a nice house in the middle of a beautiful forest outside a picturesque town.
Hola! Mi nombre es María, tengo 40 años y soy ingeniera ambiental. Actualmente vivo en la Ciudad de México donde trabajo de manera independiente. Aunque amo la ciudad,pero acabo de mudarme a una ciudad muy pintoresca y tranquila cerca de la Ciudad de México. Se encuentra a 150Km de distancia y aproximadamente una hora y media. La Idea es estar lo suficientemente cerca de la ciudad pero disfrutar las bondades del campo y de una vida tranquila. Por lo que estoy rehabilitando una bellacasa para hacerla mi hogar.

The town where the house is located is very nice to live in and has a lot of sightseeings. It is Nearby Magical Towns such as Malinalco, Metepec, or other beautiful cities as Ixtapan de la Sal and of course México City. There are a lot of typical food and artcraft to appreciate. I would love to show you around and all the colors of the region that i call “mi tierra”=home. Also, you will be able to interact with people that live at the country and at the city and see the cultural and lifestyle differences. That is great to really get to know and understand a Country. And of course if you intend to learn spanish i will be glad to help you.
Also, the house is designed and constructed in the most ecological way possible. Already has a water harvest system and i am planning to install solar energy technology, a biodigestor and drybathrom in the future. If you are interested in these or other eco-systems i will be glad to show you what i know.
El lugar donde se ubica la casa tiene mucho que ofrecer, desde platillos típicos de la región y artesanías, hasta zonas arqueológicas y actividades turísticas varias. También está muy cerca de Pueblos mágicos como Malinalco u otras ciudades de interés como Ixtapan de la Sal. Y obviamente la Ciudad de México. Me encantará poder enseñarte las bondades y toda la gama de color de mi tierra. Además, tendrás la oportunidad de interactuar con gente en el campo y la ciudad y experimentar las diferencias en el estilo de vida y la cultura. Ésta es una buena oportunidad de conocer más a fondo un país a través de su gente, sus costumbres y su estilo de vida.
Tanto el diseño y la construcción de la casa están pensado para generar el menor impacto negativo al ambiente. Contamos con una estufa ecológica y un sistema de captación de agua de lluvia. Si quieres aprender un poco más sobre éstas ecotecnias y otras más, estaré gustosa de enseñarte lo que sé. La idea es que con el tiempo la casa cuente con un biodigestor, un baño seco y tecnología solar.

Now the house have the main services such as water, energy and internet. But there are some thing to repair such as piping, wood, or painting. Some of the work i know how to do it and i am able to do. But there are some others that i need help with both, knowledge and muscle.
La casa cuenta con los servicios básicos (agua, luz, e internet) pero es necesario hacer algunas reparaciones principalmente en acabados, carpintería, pinutra, plomería y jardinería. Muchos de los trabajos puedo hacerlos yo misma. Pero para otros necesito más conocimiento técnico y músculo.

Accommodation
Besides food, a shared house surrounded by an amazing forrest an wiht a nice bedroom, bathroom and shower, The house and the furniture is simple but confortable enough . No luxury or high tecnology. I dont have a TV but a do have a fair amount of books (in spanish) and also when needed -to entretain- i talk a lot =).
Además de los alimentos la casa con todos los servicios rodeada de un impresionante bosque en una pequeña ciudad pintoresca, está a tu disposición con una habitación completa en perfectas condiciones. La casa y el mobiliario es funcional y sencillo. Es parte del concepto para liberarnos de lo rebuscado de las ciudades. No tenemos televisión pero sí una modesta colección de libros y mucha plática.
What else ...
The weather at the region is excepcional. Not cold not hot and sunny days most of the year. People is easygoing and the food is very good.
I promise you are going to get dusty. So, i highly recommend you bring appropriate clothes. Jeans, boots, a lot of socks, a jacket, and maybe a bathing suit (to get a bit of color after work or on weekends). Mosquito repellent and sunscreen also is recommended.
There are two dogs at the house. They are like family and alowed to be almost everywhere.
El clima en la región es excepcional. Templado con un sol brillante la mayor parte del año. La gente es tranquila y apacible y la comida bastante buena.
La casa y el mobiliario es funcional y sencillo. Es parte del concepto para liberarnos de lo rebuscado de las ciudades. No tengo televisión pero sí una modesta colección de libros y mucha plática.
Es importante que sepas que el campo exige cierta capacidad física. Y te prometo que te vas a ensuciar! Por eso, procura traer ropa adecuada, jeans, botas, tenis, chamarra y traje de baño (por si quieres tomar el sol al final de la jornada). Repelente para insectos y bloqueador solar también son indispensables.
Tengo 2 perros que convivirán con nosotros dentro y fuera de la casa.
