A man wearing a black hoodie takes a selfie in a sun-dappled, mossy forest clearing with fallen branches, wildflowers, and trees in the background.
A wooden dock with two umbrellas, one blue-striped and one tan, overlooks a serene pond surrounded by trees on a sunny clear blue day. Peaceful setting.
A cozy wooden room featuring a raised bed with purple bedding, colorful pillows, a small sink, wall art, and soft lighting covered with a starry cloth.
A serene pond surrounded by lush grass and plants sits beside a rustic wooden house. Trees and a gentle hillside frame this peaceful, natural setting.
Sunlight bathes twisted trees and rugged rocks atop a cliff, overlooking a vast forest and a calm, blue ocean under a partly cloudy sky.

    Description

My name is Jude, and I am an artist and a long time member of the conscious dance and festival community. I’ve been studying permaculture and regenerative practices for many years, including the soil food web (regenerative soil microbiology and biocomplete compost and farming techniques), so I can teach you about that… the main project I need help with is a barn build so especially interested in folk who are comfortable with power tools (you could learn a bit about building), but there’s also gardening/landscaping projects to do, firewood and finishing carpentry on the houses for anyone comfortable with that.
The land around my neighborhood is hands down one of the most beautiful places in the world. Walking distance from the beach, with epic bluffs looking out over the Georgia strait, with lots of parkland nearby at the end of the road in north America’s largest off grid community. Lasqueti island is covered in wild sheep (we could potentially eat one), and though it’s very undeveloped with a small population, there are semi regular community events that might interest you (like gatherings/ classes at the community hall, and a great free store.

Lasqueti is the largest off grid community in North America, with no natural predators, lots of wild sheep, and no light pollution so the night sky is quite amazing. I have studied permaculture and the soil food web for regenerative practices and have been doing lots of hot composting to produce top tier soil, so happy to share knowledge around that. I have art supplies and a nice big living room for dancing/yoga. I can tell stories about the gulf island communities and the many outreach projects I’ve been planning for making the world a better place. There are amazing bluffs near my home and the ocean is a short walk away.
