We have an organic farm specialized in growing cereals and peas on 89 hectares. In July we are also opening up our farm for visitors by having a summer cafe in a cottage that hosted Russian prisoners in world war ll. The cafe is very small, less than six chairs but it is mentioned because it brings people interested in organic farming to our farm and you have to be open for meeting new people and maybe showing them around. The cafe is open only in July.
Our farm has been in the family for seven generations so the farm is also my childhood home.
We have an eleven year old son and three adult sons so we are in our fifties. My husband is running a business, so he is not working full-time on the farm.

Help in the house
You can learn more about organic farming, growing your own food and living on the countryside. And, of course, you can learn how to heat a sauna.
We expect volunteers to help us for about five hours a day. From May- August it´s mostly gardening. We are growing vegetables mainly for our own use but also for the local Reko market. There can also be other kinds of help, for example making firewood or painting/renovating buildings on the farm. Since the machines and tractors on our farm requires drivers license we do not expect you to help us with the field work.

The accommodation is one simple room in a sauna-building in the middle of a field. The bathroom is at the farmhouse. We have a guestroom in our house as well, if you come as a single volunteer you may prefer to stay with us.
We live one hour west of Helsinki and 20 minutes (by car) from the nearest small town. A grocery store is 2 km away. We have bikes that you can borrow, but really, this is a quiet and peaceful place with not so many happenings and attractions.
