Description
Have 26 sled dogs, ( alaskian husky bred ) into long distance racing with real huskies . Competed in 300 mile race ( Canadian challenge, am planning to keep racing, and love the aspect of exploring the wilderness with my team of dogs .
I am not doing this as a business or tours , just as a hobby , and way of life .
I love sharing the cultural experiences of dog mushing, racing and knowledge to others and love learning about others way of life as well in exchange for wilderness and home living,, I love other cultures as well and want to learn your ways of survival, meals u eat , ideas of things u do in your country and your way of life .
I am really love sharing the process of the sled dog culture and what it takes to get on a sled and enjoy the ride exploring the wilderness with the dogs .
My schedule of the work week mon- fri is i I work week days from 8am - 4:30 pm with a 40 min drive to and from work. (8hr) day i work .During the weekdays i work a full time job, and throughout the week when things are slow i run and exercise my dogs at home on the trails . I share my activities and what is involved with the dogs each day, all of my tasks can be done together .
As u stay at my place, I would love your input ideas , of your culture and area u live and activities u enjoy , through exchange would be great .
On evenings and weekends I am available to share cultural experience, and can share dog care activities, i work to help pay for this lifestyle and having the help ensures the dogs are cared for and develops them for racing .
If u feel more comfortable and able to handle the dogs more will be given only depending on your level of experience, and tasks as well with comfortability to the task .
The experience that is offered here is seeing sled dogs, learning the training aspects , dog care , dogsled and ie pulling experience.
If u have your own vehicle accommodation u are welcome to explore the area, there are mountains and hiking areas however they are up to 1-3 hrs depending on where u go to do extreme hiking. I have areas of exploring wilderness where i train my dogs , depends on the time when i go into my wilderness more so in winter. There is also ski hills near by within an hour away, as well as site seeing places that can be explored.
If u plan to come here it would be respectful to stay at least two weeks as this helps arrange next guests and scheduling it better planned.
