Description
We are a family owned project of accomodation and lodging in domes and cabins in the 'Valley of the stars' in a small town called Pichasca, Rio Hurtado which is in the province of Limari, Coquimbo region in stunning Chile.
I run the place full-time and live here alone all year round with frequent visits from family who contribute such as my parents, sister as well my nieces and daughters who the cabins are named after. There's also lots of visits from friends who come spend some time up here so some days are filled with many people and others days it is just me up here.
There's also two lovely full time employees who are around most days.
Everyone speaks mainly Spanish so some basic knowledge of the language or willingness to learn some basics would be ideal. It can be a great opportunity if you're looking to improve your Spanish language skills as you will have to opportunity to interact with lots of native speakers.

this is ideal for someone who would like to experience the life in a very small town, who likes nature, animals. at times things are very quiet so it is also a good opportunity for someone who wants some peace, quiet and tranquility. other times it is full of people and life, especially during the summer. you will be able to have the chance to meet locals, share knowledge and experience , the chance to explore amazing places in the region and all of Chile if you wish to travel and/or the opportunity to practice Spanish! you can also practice and gain skills in the hospitality sector, animal care as well as gardening and so much more.

the volunteers will get a private room just for them , it has 2 double beds so it can fit a single person, couple/pair or a group of up to 4 people. There is a bathroom right in front of the room that is almost exclusively for the workawayers while the kitchen and all other spaces are shared but you will have complete access to at all times.
if not staying during peak season / summer then the workawayers may be able to stay in one of the cabins or domes that are equipped with their private bathroom, kitchen and living space.
there is no served/included breakfast, lunch or dinner provided to the guests at the lodge on regular basis that we could provide to the volunteers as well
so the shared kitchen in our home is fully stocked with all the basic food/ingredients available to you at all times, enough to cover all three meals
with the previous volunteers we have taken turns cooking with everything provided by us then eating together, most of the time but not always, however always making enough food for everyone, then eating at their own pace/schedule
there are some fruit and veg that grow on the premises that you will have access to , so feel free to grab and pick what you want as well :))What else ...
Here are just some ideas of things you can do on your free time/ days off such as going out and getting to know the valley, go for walks and hikes as well as travelling to and visiting touristic places nearby like Tongoy, La Serena, Valle del Elqui etc. As well as just use the space and facilities to rest and enjoy like the hammocks, quartz bed, swimming pool etc.

We loved simply everything about the place. The people, the work, the vibe, the food, the nature and the animals.
We totally fell in love with Roberto, Macarena and Juve. They treated us like family from the first second on. Thanks soo much for everything.
