    Description

Hello, we are Cam, Krista, Griffin, 11 and Chloe, 14, and dog Elma.

We have loved having workaways in the past and are looking forward to finding the right fit 2-4 weeks over May and June. We live in a small town outside of Vancouver, by way of a 45 minute ferry ride. We live on the edge of a forest with great walking trails and a few blocks from a beautiful beach. We can offer a private bedroom and bathroom.

We area about to start a renovation on a new home, that we will be moving into at the end of June. We are looking for a couple who would like to stay and help with setting up a new garden, building a fence, landscaping, and other projects such as painting, putting together furniture, depending on skill and interest and when you join us.

We aim to make your stay comfortable and will have either the option to stay in our current home or our new home, depending on what time you can come.

While you are on your off time, we hope that you are enjoying sunny spring days getting to know the Sunshine Coast, exploring the beach, or forest trails.

Travellers may like being a part of a family that enjoys gardening, cooking, arts and crafts. We love learning about people from around the world and are happy to share our lives with you. Cam likes making kambucha, and sour dough bread and Krista likes gardening, landscaping, running, cooking, baking, and would love to have more time to do art.

We have loved having workaways in the past to work with our family and connect with people from around the world.

For this work away, we are looking for a single who has skills and interest in helping with DIY home projects such as landscaping, gardening and carpentry to do projects such as building a new veggie garden, setting up an area for our sauna and hot tub to go, building a fence or painting and installing trim, setting up our home gym, etc. The workaway will be working on a property very close to the beach with a lovely view of the ocean.

We have public buses, close the Vancouver for a weekend trip or enjoy the local area with lots of hikes and beaches to explore.

There is a bus route 2 blocks away from our house, that gives you access to most of the Sunshine Coast and access to the ferry if you'd like to go into Vancouver. Vancouver BC is a 45 minute ferry ride away, so you can get to the city and back within a day quite easily. The Sunshine Coast offers lots of natural beauty with endless shore line and forest to explore. We have kayaks that you are welcome to use. There are a few coffee shops within walking distance to our home and a great pilates studio also close by. This is a great community of artists, musicians, and nature lovers. We also live by a beautiful mountain range where people can stay in cabins. There is snow shoeing/cross country ski park close by as well (in winter months only)
