Description
Hello, we are a family of 4. We area about to start a renovation of our house and would love to have a couple or independent single to stay with us for a few weeks and help with setting up a new garden, building a fence, some demo and other projects such as painting, gardening, depending on skill and interest.
We live in a small town outside of Vancouver, by way of a 45 minute ferry ride. We live on the edge of a forest with great walking trails and a few blocks from a beautiful beach. We can offer a private bedroom and bathroom. Our kids are 11 and 14. We are looking for a workaway who can help with house renovation, yard work and general maintenance things.

Travellers may like being a part of a family that enjoys gardening, cooking, arts and crafts. We love learning about people from around the world and are happy to share our lives with you. Cam likes making kambucha, and sour dough bread and Krista likes gardening, landscaping, running, cooking, baking, and would love to have more time to do art.

Help
We have loved having workaways in the past to work with our family and connect with people from around the world.
For this work away, we are looking for a single or couple who have skill and interest in helping with the beginning of a renovation. There will be things like building a new veggie garden, setting up an area for our sauna and hot tub to go, building a fence, some demo and moving building materials around, painting trim etc. The work away will be working on a property very close to the beach with a lovely view of the ocean. Krista will be the main person working with them and providing help to Cam when at times.
We have a few options for where to stay depending on the time line for the stay. You will either be in our home with us or in the new home, where you will stay on your own during the evening and night. Either way you will be well fed, and have lots of time to explore the local area on your own. In the past we have enjoyed taking work aways out and about, but due to our project we will be focused on that and you will be able to be independent on your down time. We have public buses, close the Vancouver for a weekend trip or enjoy the local area with lots of hikes and beaches to explore.

We will have a bedroom in our new house that we are renovating for work away with a bathroom and kitchen facilities or you will be in our home, depending on when the stay happens.
What else ...
There is a bus route 2 blocks away from our house, that gives you access to most of the Sunshine Coast and access to the ferry if you'd like to go into Vancouver. Vancouver BC is a 45 minute ferry ride away, so you can get to the city and back within a day quite easily. The Sunshine Coast offers lots of natural beauty with endless shore line and forest to explore. We have kayaks that you are welcome to use. There are a few coffee shops within walking distance to our home and a great pilates studio also close by. This is a great community of artists, musicians, and nature lovers. We also live by a beautiful mountain range where people can stay in cabins. There is snow shoeing/cross country ski park close by as well (in winter months only)
