    Description

    Hello and welcome!

We are a family from Schleswig-Holstein in the north of Germany and we would love to host a Workawayer as an au pair from January 2026. The stay can be between six and twelve months, and we would be especially happy if you could stay longer than half a year.

There are five of us: two parents and three children, who will be about seven and a half, four and a half and two years old at that time. The kids are curious and active, with different interests such as football and horse riding. We live in a large, cosy house that we moved into in 2023, surrounded by fields and nature.

The children go to nursery, kindergarten and school in the mornings and come home around midday. That means most of the help is needed in the afternoon and evening. This includes spending time with the kids, playing, helping with homework or hobbies, preparing small meals or snacks, joining the evening routine and sometimes babysitting when we have appointments. Light household tasks like children’s laundry or tidying up are also part of everyday family life, but we do not expect heavy housework. For us it is important that the help feels fair and that you can also focus on what you enjoy.

At home we speak German, and the children also understand and speak a little Danish. We enjoy being outdoors and making small trips as a family, and we would love for you to join us so you feel part of our everyday life. If you have your own hobbies or sports, we are happy to help you find options nearby.

A little personal note: about ten years ago one of us also travelled abroad through Workaway to Iceland and had a wonderful experience there. That time brought so much joy and inspiration, and now we would like to give something back by opening our home for someone else.

We would be happy to meet you in a video call before the stay. If you already have experience or references with children that is great, but more important to us is openness, warmth and a genuine interest in family life.

We look forward to welcoming you into our family and to sharing everyday life, culture and good times together.

If you are excited to become part of our family and have an unforgettable time in Northern Germany, we would love to hear from you!

We live in a rural area, perfect if you enjoy peace and nature. The small town of Friedrichstadt is 3.5 km away with a train station that connects to Hamburg. In about half an hour by car you can also reach a beautiful sandy beach. So you have the quiet countryside, but at the same time the chance for trips to the city or the sea.
