    Description

We are a homeschooler family with 4 kids and live on 1.2 hectares of land in middle Italy. We choose to live a simple but meaningful life, practice permaculture to become self sufficient and be a beneficial influence for nature and society. The path is long, and the journey magnificent. We spend our days mostly in the garden and with our children, we enjoy cooking and take great pleasure in the gifts that our vegetable garden provides.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We have been practising permaculture for a while now and like to share our experiences and knowledge with the travellers. We also practise seed propagation, harvesting of wild herbs and fruits, fermentation, processing of our produce, baking sourdough bread and much more. Further more we are quite established within the permaculture community and know a lot of other interesting people with whom we share activities, projects and overall interest. Our homestead is becoming more and more a place to meet, share, work and dream together.

  • Help

    Help

This year we are going to tackle some bigger projects.
We recently started building a wooden tiny house, we are planning an adventure play ground and dreaming of a root cellar. Maybe we´ll even get to build a glass house (out of old windows) for our more delicate plants.
Alongside this big projects, we also make time to dedicate to the vegetable garden.
The help we welcome from travellers varies from season to season, and also from the potential of each individual. We usually try to find tasks to fit each person and also help us progress in the activities we are engaging at that moment.
We provide all meals for workawayers (unless someone wishes otherwise) and will do most, if not all of the cooking.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We have different types of accommodation. We have a 6m mongolian jurt situated in the garden, a guest room in the main house, and a lot of different locations for a van or tent (only in the summer time). All this accommodations would have a private bathroom in the main house. In the summer time we also have a salt water pool that can be enjoyed.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Umbria has much to offer, especially to those who love to explore cities. Gubbio, Orvieto, Assisi, Perugia, and many more are lovely, especially in the warm season.
Public transport is not so great here, a car, van or other vehicle is of great advantage to those who want to explore the area. Nevertheless we can provide for occasional transport to the bus or train station if needed.

    Space for parking camper vans

We have some places on the land that can be used for campervans where we can provide clean water and shade. The access road to our homestead is a dirt road but it is good enough for any campervan.
