Description
Hii! My name is Wan Wan Wijaya, im Bachelor Of Engineering and I started my own business 8 years ago in Siantar City, producing laughter bread (or translated to English: Laughter Bread). The bread is a traditional specialty from Siantar City. It's a sweet dough that we deep fry into a crispy snack. And now we have 45 team. Today, the business has grown into a medium enterprise. My goal is to make it a public company and expand the business to all of Indonesia. I am now looking for some creative minds to help out with digital marketing and promotion of our brand.

Siantar City is not known among most travelers so this Workaway offers a very local experience. Siantar is a multicultural city, where you will find both mosques and Buddhist temples as well as villages in the area that practice Batak culture and Learning about the Local. The location of Siantar is perfect if you are on your way to Lake Toba, as it is only an hour away by car. We would also love to show Workawayers some of the hidden gems in the area, such as some of the most beautiful views of Lake Toba and sights where you can see wild gibbons in the jungle.
Help
Workawayers will mainly help out with digital marketing and promotion of our brand. This includes content creation for social media such as Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook and Youtube, so any skills in photo- and video-editing would come in handy for this Workaway. We also sometimes need help with become a Local which is great for anyone to Experience the Local Culture, using Different Language :)

Accommodation
We have a room for Workawayers on the second floor above our shop. On the first floor there is an open kitchen and our little gym where you can workout as much as you'd like during your free time. We will supply with fresh vegetables and other food ingredients so that Workawayers can make their own food. There are also lots of great restaurants in the area and a local market within 20 minutes walking distance from the shop.
What else ...
Helpers can do anything, like yoga, fitness or swimming. Lake Toba is of course the main attraction nearby, but the area around also have tea plantations, a giant Buddha statue and opportunities for rafting (if time allows).
If you are arriving from Medan, you'll take a bus to Pematangsiantar for about 3.5 hours. We will pick you up at the bus station and take you the last bit to our shop. Grab and other taxi services are available in Siantar.
