    Description

    Hello! My name is Elise, and I live in Guadeloupe with my wonderful 3-year-old daughter.

    I work as an educational trainer and learning specialist. I help children, teenagers and adults develop effective learning strategies through neuroscience, creativity and positive education. My work is a real passion, and I also dream of making education and learning more accessible through new projects.

    We live in a peaceful area surrounded by nature, only a short drive from beautiful beaches, waterfalls and hiking trails. Life here is relaxed, and we enjoy spending time outdoors, discovering local culture and sharing simple family moments.

    I am looking for an English-speaking volunteer who would like to experience authentic life in Guadeloupe while becoming part of our family for a while. More than someone to help with my daughter, I hope to welcome someone who enjoys cultural exchange, languages and sharing everyday life.

    I would love my daughter to hear English every day in a natural way through games, books, songs and conversations.

    In return, I hope you will discover our beautiful island, improve your French if you wish, and create wonderful memories together with us.

    I believe that the best cultural exchanges are based on kindness, trust, communication and mutual respect.

    We look forward to welcoming someone who is open-minded, positive and excited to share this adventure with us!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Living with us is about much more than helping with childcare—it's about becoming part of our family and experiencing everyday life in Guadeloupe.

    You will have the opportunity to discover Caribbean culture, French and Creole traditions, local cuisine, beautiful beaches, waterfalls, markets and festivals. If you would like, I will be happy to introduce you to our customs and share the history of our island.

    As a learning specialist and educational trainer, I also enjoy discussing education, neuroscience, personal development and languages. If these topics interest you, I'd be happy to share my experience with you.

    In return, I hope my daughter and I can learn about your culture, traditions and language. I would love for my daughter to grow up hearing English naturally while discovering another culture through everyday life.

    For me, the best cultural exchange is based on curiosity, kindness, respect and creating lasting memories together.

    Help

    I am looking for someone who enjoys spending time with young children and would like to become part of our family for a while.

    The main help will be with my 3-year-old daughter:

    taking her to school and picking her up;
    speaking English with her through everyday conversations;
    playing games, reading books, singing songs and doing creative activities;
    occasionally looking after her in the evening when I have professional commitments.

    I would also appreciate some light help with daily family life, such as preparing simple meals, helping keep shared spaces tidy, doing the dishes or helping with laundry when needed.

    I am not looking for a housekeeper or a nanny, but for someone who enjoys sharing everyday life, discovering a new culture and becoming like a big sister to my daughter.

    I hope we can learn from each other, share our cultures and create a warm and respectful family atmosphere together.

    This host offers a language exchange
    French is my native language, and I speak conversational English. My daughter's father is a native English speaker, so she already understands some English. One of my goals is to help her develop her listening and speaking skills naturally through everyday life, games, songs, books and conversations. I would also be happy to help you practise French if you would like to improve it. I believe that living together is one of the best ways to learn a language while sharing cultures and creating meaningful connections.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

    You will have your own spacious private bedroom with storage space. The bathroom will be for your use most of the time and will only be shared with my 3-year-old daughter when you are caring for her.

    You will also have access to all the shared areas of the house, including a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable living room, a large covered porch where we enjoy spending time together, and an outdoor space to relax and enjoy the tropical climate.

    Our home is peaceful, welcoming and surrounded by nature. We hope you will feel at home while discovering everyday life in Guadeloupe and becoming part of our family.

    Three meals a day are provided as part of the cultural exchange. You will have access to all the food available in the house and are welcome to prepare your own meals whenever you wish.

    Whenever our schedules allow, we enjoy sharing meals together as a family. We believe that eating together is one of the best ways to exchange cultures, practise languages and get to know each other.

    If you have any dietary requirements, allergies or food preferences, please let us know before your arrival so we can do our best to accommodate them.

    Our home has Wi-Fi, so if you are a digital nomad or work remotely part-time, you should be able to combine your work with your cultural exchange. We can discuss a schedule that allows you to balance your online work and your time with our family. Most of the help will take place while my daughter is at home (before and after school, and occasionally in the evening), so you will usually have several hours of free time during the day. If you are looking for a meaningful cultural exchange, enjoy family life, love children and would like to discover Guadeloupe while improving your French, I would be delighted to welcome you into our home.
