    Description

Hello, we are Andrea & Allan and we live in the Crescent Heights area of South Surrey, BC.

We have a large home and both my husband and I mostly work from home. We are just a 15-minute walk from Crescent Beach or the more secluded area of the beach known as 10,000 steps, and a scenic 30-minute walk to White Rock Beach and promenade.

We are vegan and like to home-cook most meals and appreciate vegan guests who can share cooking and meal prep. :)

Our kids have grown up and moved out, leaving us with our cat, Chester, who has three legs after an accident with a car, so we keep him inside and he follows Allan just about everywhere.

We are non-smokers - we don't drink much, though we occasionally enjoy a nice wine, mostly sourced from local or nearby Okanagan wineries :)

Also we live a 5 mins or less walk to Crescent Park, and the entire neighbourhood is a haven for nature lovers, with tall Douglas firs and cedars that house owls, a tranquil pond where frogs sun themselves on the rocks.

    Things to do:
Explore the beautiful surroundings, including Crescent Beach & White Rock Beach
Visit Crescent Park and enjoy the local wildlife
Attend local festivals and events in Surrey, Vancouver and surrounding area. Easily access Vancouver and Seattle for day trips and exploration.

    Our Home:
Our home is a warm and inviting space that we're working to improve and renovate. We're excited to share our journey with you and make your stay as enjoyable and enriching as possible amidst the busyness. Allan and I both work. Allan is an audio engineer and videographer. I work in media and government relations mostly from home but with some travel.

    What We Offer:
In exchange for your help of about 5 hours a day, we offer comfortable accommodation in our large, cozy home. You'll have your own private room and access to shared living spaces and a shared washroom with tub, shower, sink.

    Expectations:
Scheduled household and outdoor garden work 5 hours per day, five days a week.

Keeping the house clean and tidy and helping with meal prep is a daily thing… if you are part of a meal, we appreciate your contributions outside of the expected “work hours”.

We are not strict by any means, but expect folks to be efficient with their time, having experienced some helpers who cannot organize their time and want to do the minimum brings us to having to state this outright.

Outside work is weeding, watering and nurturing the outside plants and shrubs, some trimming and cutting of grass, sweeping walkways etc..

Our garage needs some organization and we might have a few DIY projects on the go so if you are good with tools and able to help with painting and woodworking projects, cleaning the gutters and spring tidy up!

We understand that you might want to explore more of the area during your stay. If you plan a getaway to the island or another nearby destination, we are open to adjusting your schedule. This might mean shorter work weeks or adjusting hours before and after your trip to accommodate your plans. We want to ensure that you have a fulfilling and enjoyable experience, getting what you want out of your stay as well as us managing a good flow of the household with your contributions.

If you're interested in joining us and experiencing life in Surrey, BC, please send us a message with some information about yourself, your experience, and why you'd like to stay with us. We look forward to welcoming you into our home and sharing this beautiful part of the world with you!
