    Description

    News flash from the Canadian prairies: We are now accepting applications for harvest. The position will be for a grain cart operator. Applicants must have previous farm experience, fluent English language skills and legal to work in Canada. The job will start approximately in August and run through to early November. We have on farm accommodations and meals.

    We are a family farm located in west central Saskatchewan Canada producing wheat, barley, canola, peas and faba beans.

    This is a salary position. We are looking for a person passionate about food production and who understands and embraces the agriculture lifestyle.

    Your job would consist of assisting in a wide range of activities related to grains and oil seed production. These will include planting, fertilizing, cultivating, spraying, handling agricultural fertilizers and chemicals, and harvesting. Also includes operating, repairing and maintaining trucks, farm equipment and buildings.
    Requirements

    Post-secondary education in agriculture, agri-business, or a related field (degree or diploma).
    Minimum three years experience operating and maintaining farm equipment, with larger and more modern equipment experience preferred. A positive attitude and good work ethic, with appreciation for the fact that farming is an occupation that sometimes requires long hours of work, seven days a week, especially during critical periods (planting, harvest, seed shipping, etc.). Able to do physical manual labour when required. Willingness to accept new tasks and increase knowledge. Proven record of successful ability to organize, manage and work independently within fixed time constraints.

    Must be able to speak english and obtain a visa to work legally in Canada.
