    Description

We are an energetic, ambitious family with 3 young children living on a large lifestyle block on a hill near Dunedin. I have set up a nursery of native plants to revegetate our hillside. We plan to make a public access walk through 25 acre native forest and also a 10 acre forest of oaks and maples. A very exciting project! After two years of nursery growing we are ready to do our big plant out in the autumn/winter/spring of 2024. We are very excited to see this forest take shape with the help of some wonderful workawayers!

Our home has an incredible view and is close to Mosgiel (4mins), Brighton Beach (9mins) and Dunedin City centre (15mins). It is a wonderfully warm and bright home to spend the winter months!

We have absolutely loved having our past workawayers with the liveliness and joy they bring to the household!

From May to September 2024 we will be doing our big plant out. As part of a team of approx 6 people you will be planting out native plants on the hillside and putting up protection from rabbits. This is physical work and requires a decent level of fitness and work ethic but it is also rewarding work with incredible views and the knowledge you are planting a forest to stand for generations.
We have loved having multiple people stay at the same time as it is such a fun, lively community feel so we are really looking forward to this winter!

I am happy to provide and cook all food (breakfast, lunch and dinner and snacks). I can cater for vegetarians but we do include dairy and eggs.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Dunedin area is full of beautiful beaches and walks.
Great surfing 10mins away from our house. It is the oldest city in NZ so the city centre is interesting. It is 2-3 hrs from Cromwell, Wanaka and Queenstown. It is a beautiful area to explore!

We have a 2yr, 4yr and 6yr old so we would need someone/people with a tame lifestyle eg limited drinking and no smoking
