    Description

We have 25 acres in beautiful Central Florida, where we train and breed warmblood horses. There are currently 14 horses and we have three cute dogs also, and plan on getting chickens soon too!

Workawayers that come will not be involved with the horses in the business, i.e. client horses - only our personal animals. Involvement at all with the horses depends on whether we feel it's appropriate given experience level and intuition. Please note there is no riding available!

My husband is from Germany and is fluent in English, German and Afrikaans. I am from England and we have both lived in Europe, Africa and are now settled in Florida! It would be a great chance to speak conversational German, or learn more about horses and general maintenance on a farm!
Florida is very interesting and there is a lot of history here to explore, plus water sports, shopping, etc.

General maintenance is always helpful - cleaning, weeding, painting, things like that. We also have several projects on the go - mostly outdoors work like building fences and cutting branches, tidying up in general, and if you are familiar with horses, there would be opportunities to be involved with them too. Some dog sitting is possible. We need energetic, happy and polite people who LOVE animals!

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You will either have your own room and share bathroom and kitchen with one other person in a small apartment, or you will be in a modern camper by yourself. Usually you will get your own food out of our food allowance, and can prepare it yourself, or with the others if there is someone else here doing Workaway at the same time as you. We have an outside grill and space for relaxing as well as inside.

    What else ...

Florida is very laid back and there are many things to do here including hiking, water activities, shopping etc. You can get a ride to stores to get groceries etc.
