Description
We are a small hobby farm in Northern Saskatchewan. West of Meadowlake. Saskatchewan. My husband and I live here, with our farm cats and 2 house dogs plus a herd of sheep. We are looking for someone interested or have some experience with animals for lambing to help with feeding, chores , fencing and outside help to start middle of march and at least till end of may or longer if you choose during lambing season. During lambing we are outside alot checking pens, feeding and bottle feeding cleaning barns. Also yard work and gardening for our own consumption! No produce is sold from the farm. Fresh vegetables for summer barbeques! We plant a decent sized garden for fresh vegetables in summer and storing for winter months which includes canning! Depending on person would like someone here for the middle of March till first of May or as long as you would like! We are meat eaters and hunters and butcher our own meat for consumption, so this would not work for people with sensitivities! We have 2 grown daughters that live in the area and 2 grandchildren. We love our peace and quiet out here and enjoy our neighbors whom we like to help and socialize with whenever we can. A bedroom and bathroom in separate area of house available. Not picky eaters, very adventurous in trying new foods!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We have had a person from a workaway visit here from France who totally enjoyed her stay and now visits as a guest regularly. She taught us some of her cooking skills and wine pairing along with her French culture. We are always open to new learning possibilities in language, food or culture. You will learn how to work with sheep in all aspects, fishing when available and enjoying the great outdoors in our area.
Help
Cleaning out barn when processing the sheep for treatment, lambing and shearing which i will be doing alongside. All chores will be shared with us so you will never be alone, all farm tasks are done as a team! Helping cut wood for winter stockpile. Walking in fields cleaning up areas where animals will be.
