Description
Friendly Workaway by the sea in Kinsale 🌊
Hi, I'm Carmel! I live in the beautiful coastal town of Kinsale, where I also work remotely. I'm about a five-minute walk from the town and ten minutes from the beach.
Kinsale is a quirky little harbour town with a really vibrant community, plenty of lovely pubs and restaurants and lots of activities on the doorstep. It's just 25km from Cork City and Cork International Airport and is the gateway to scenic West Cork and the start/finish point of the Wild Atlantic Way.
Originally a medieval fishing port, Kinsale is now known as the gourmet capital of Ireland, with lots of great restaurants and cafés. There's also loads to do outdoors, including swimming, sailing, fishing, kayaking, surfing and foraging, as well as some beautiful coastal walks. For history lovers, Charles Fort and James Fort are both nearby, and there are lots of festivals and events throughout the year.
The Project:
I'm looking to host a Workawayer for around 2 weeks in September / early October and would love a bit of help tackling my garden! I'm planning to put down a patio and create some new flower beds, so there's going to be plenty of digging, moving things around and generally getting muddy :)
For this stay, I'm particularly hoping to find someone who has done this kind of work before — whether that's landscaping, gardening, laying paving or just being a generally handy outdoor person who knows their way around a garden project.
**A small plea to save us both some time :) — please only get in touch for this particular stay if you have some relevant hands-on experience.** I'm sure there are lots of other lovely Workawayers out there, but for the moment the garden is my mission!
You'll have your own room and private bathroom in my home, with meals provided. I'm also very happy to show you around Kinsale and the surrounding West Cork area while you're here.
I've been a Workawayer myself over the years and have had some brilliant experiences, so I know what it's like being on the travelling side of things too. I'm really happy to finally be in a position to host and hopefully return the favour. Mostly I'm looking for someone friendly, independent and easy-going who'll enjoy spending a couple of weeks by the sea — and who doesn't mind a bit of Irish mud! :) -
