Help
We are looking for a friendly female volunteer to help both of us improve our English. For Arun, we need a 'big sister' to play chess and board games and to look after him when necessary.
In exchange, we offer a quiet home environment where you will have your own room and private bathroom, ensuring you have plenty of privacy.

Our main goal with this exchange is to break the barrier of speaking. We know the theory, but we need the practice. We are looking for a supportive environment where we can make mistakes and learn from them without pressure. For Arun, it is about exposure and fun; for me, it is about polishing my pronunciation and vocabulary through interesting conversations."
Accommodation
We live in a beautiful, bright penthouse apartment with stunning views of the "Ría" (bay). It is a quiet and peaceful building, perfectly located just a short walk from the beaches, the port, and all services.
The apartment features:
A spacious living room with direct access to a terrace, equipped with an outdoor table—perfect for enjoying breakfast with a view!
A fully equipped kitchen and central heating.
High-speed Wi-Fi throughout the house.
Your Space:
You will have your own private bedroom and exclusive use of a bathroom, ensuring your privacy. We are a single-parent family environment, so the atmosphere is respectful and cozy.
Note: We also have a parking space in the garage if you happen to be traveling by car.
What else ...
Life in Cangas & Free Time
Cangas is a hidden gem. If you love the outdoors, you will be happy here. You can hike along the stunning "Costa da Vela," visit the famous Cíes Islands (a National Park right in front of our home!), or just relax on the many white-sand beaches nearby.
Even though we live in a quiet town, you won't feel isolated. The ferry to Vigo runs every hour (and every half hour during peak times). It’s a cheap and beautiful trip that drops you right in the city center for shopping, cultural events, or nightlife.
Our Lifestyle & House Rules
Family Rhythm: During the week, we have a school routine. We usually wake up around 7:30 AM and go to bed around 10:00 PM. We are looking for someone who respects this rhythm, especially on school nights (quiet time at night).
Smoking: We are a non-smoking family and we do not want smoke in our home. Therefore, we are specifically looking for a non-smoker volunteer.
Meals: We are not vegetarians; we eat a varied diet (meat, fish, vegetables, etc.). We would love to share meals with you to practice English, but we also respect if you prefer to cook your own food or explore on your own sometimes.
Cleanliness: We are a tidy family. We expect you to keep your bedroom and private bathroom clean, and to help clean up after yourself in common areas (kitchen/living room).
The Cat: Just a reminder that we share our home with a cat, so please make sure you don't have allergies!

Can host families

Can host digital nomads
About Digital Nomads & Travelers Our home is fully equipped for remote work (high-speed Wi-Fi, quiet mornings, terrace), so Digital Nomads are very welcome. However, you don't have to be a nomad! We are equally happy to host students, travelers on a gap year, or anyone simply looking to discover Galicia. Whether you are working remotely or just traveling, the priority for us is the cultural exchange. We are looking for someone with enough free time and energy to play with Arun and share moments with the family, not someone who needs to be locked in their room all day. Other notes: Minimum Stay: To help Arun feel comfortable and build a connection, we prefer stays of at least 2 weeks. No Smoking: We are a 100% non-smoking household
