  Description

  Hi! We’re Laís and Tales, and we’d love to invite you to live a unique farm experience with us in the countryside of Minas Gerais, Brazil!
  
  After traveling around the world for more than a year, we returned to Brazil during the pandemic and decided to completely change our lifestyle. We left the city behind and moved to a farm near Laís’ hometown, Medeiros, in the heart of Minas Gerais.
  
  We live on a beautiful farm surrounded by eucalyptus trees and nature. Our own house is now almost finished, and we are currently working on a new and exciting project: renovating a separate house that will become our volunteers’ home.
  
  This is where we need your help!
  
  The volunteer house needs some love and a complete makeover. The work may include cleaning, painting, replacing flooring, organizing and improving the spaces, and other general renovation tasks. It will be a hands-on project, and you’ll be able to see the transformation happening during your stay!
  
  We also have a vegetable garden that has been a little neglected lately 😅, so we would love to bring it back to life. We want to create a productive garden where we can grow fresh vegetables and herbs, as well as take better care of our orchard.
  
  Our farm life also includes animals, and we are starting a new cattle project. Depending on the time of your stay, there may be opportunities to help with general farm activities, fencing, cattle and chicken care, and other projects around the property.
  
  We are also a family with a one-year-old child, so we may need some help with childcare from time to time. We are looking for people who enjoy being around children and would be happy to play with him, keep him company and help with his daily routine.
  
  Cooking is another important part of our daily life. We love good food and enjoy sharing meals, so we may also need help preparing meals and keeping the kitchen organized.
  
  At the moment, we are welcoming couples or two friends traveling together. We believe this is a great opportunity to share the experience, explore the region and work together on our farm projects.
  
  You don’t need to be an expert in construction, gardening or farming. What matters most to us is having good energy, responsibility, willingness to help and an open mind.
  
  If you enjoy getting your hands dirty, learning new things, being around nature, animals and a young family, and you’d like to help us transform a space that will become your own home during future stays, we’d love to hear from you!
  
  Here, the nights are full of stars and fireflies, the food is homemade, the pace is slower, and there is always something new to work on, learn or discover.

  Being with us is also an immersion in Minas Gerais culture and the charm of the Serra da Canastra. During your stay, you can:
  -Look at the stars while fireflies light up the night around you
  - Hike through trails on the farm
  - Visit local cheese, coffee, and eucalyptus farms
  - Taste the flavors of traditional Minas cuisine
  - Explore nearby waterfalls
  - Connect with the slow rhythm of the countryside and nature

  Help

  The activities can vary depending on the season and our current projects. At the moment, our main project is renovating the volunteer house.
  You may help us with:
  Renovating the volunteer house – cleaning, painting, replacing flooring, organizing spaces and general improvements
  Creating and maintaining the vegetable garden – preparing the soil, planting, making seedlings, watering, weeding and harvesting
  Taking care of the orchard – general maintenance, pruning and harvesting
  Cleaning and organizing the house and common areas
  Helping with our one-year-old child, playing, keeping him company and helping with his daily routine
  Cooking and helping in the kitchen, preparing meals, organizing and washing dishes
  General farm activities, mowing, weeding, pruning and maintaining outdoor areas
  Helping with cattle and chickens, depending on the farm's needs and your experience
  General maintenance and other small projects around the farm
  
  You don’t need to have experience in everything. We are happy to teach you and work together!
  
  What we value most is initiative, responsibility, good energy and a willingness to get involved.

  Accommodation

  At the moment, the volunteer house is being renovated, so volunteers will stay in our main house with us during the renovation period. You will have your own private bedroom, while the kitchen, living room and other areas of the house will be shared with us. Once the volunteer house is ready, future volunteers will be able to stay there.
  
  We want you to feel comfortable and welcome during your stay. You can relax in the hammock, explore the farm, enjoy the nature around you and experience the peaceful rhythm of countryside life.
  We offer 3 meals per day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all made with simple, homemade, and delicious ingredients.
  We take turns cooking and washing dishes, and you’re welcome to help or even share your favorite recipe! Snacks, fruits, and coffee are available throughout the day.
  We eat meat, but also offer vegetarian options, depending on your preferences.

  What else ...

  We’re located 25 km from the town of Medeiros (MG), and close to Pratinha. Both towns have fewer than 5,000 residents — peaceful places where everyone knows each other and life moves slowly and warmly.
  Good to know:
  - There’s no public transport to the farm
  - We offer one weekly trip to town for shopping or outings
  - We have two sweet dogs, Malawi and Tailândia
  - We use fast, reliable Starlink internet
  - There is mobile signal (Vivo) in some areas of the farm
