    Description

Welcome to our farm from Jake (39) Melissa(40) Perin(15) and Ada(12). We are a shared offgrid farm with multiple independent families living side by side. We have been performing various experiments in community living and hosting volunteers here for close to 15 years. We have a team of mules, kune kune pigs, bees and laying hens on the farm. We keep a flock of sheep on a nearby island as well as a small fold of highland cattle on a separate island. We are passionate about traditional skills, rasining our own food and building all our own structures. Harvesting timber from the forest with our mules and milling on site with our bandsaw mill.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

You will be exposed to dozens of new skills here and have ample time to practice them. Getting to know yourself as part of a community of like minded people exploring the possibilities of a self reliant lifestyle. Important to remember is that we are an omnivorous farm and rely on animal products to survive. We try to accommodate folks with a variety of food preferences but it can be challenging to keep things strictly separate.
