Description
Welcome to our home!
We are a family of four with two teenagers, living in a lovely village in the heart of the Netherlands. Our family includes a sweet dog, two turtles, and two friendly chickens. We love spending time outdoors and enjoy an active lifestyle.
We both work in care and education, and in our free time we enjoy exploring culture and nature. We are looking for someone who can help us with our garden, including weeding, pruning trees, trimming shrubs and cook.
For our helpers, we offer a spacious guest apartment with a private entrance, a bathroom with toilet, and a kitchen. Our village is well-connected by public transport, making it easy to visit the larger cities.
If you enjoy outdoor work, a welcoming family environment, and the chance to explore the Netherlands, we would love to host you!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
You’re always welcome to join us at the table a few times during your stay—our kids love chatting and hearing about new people and places! We’re curious to learn all about you, where you come from, and your experiences. Depending on your interests, we can also help you explore our charming village or visit nearby cities in the Netherlands.

Help
Tasks and Responsibilities
We are looking for one person or a couple to help us get our garden ready for winter for about 3 hours a day (some days a bit more, some days less) over a period of 1–2 weeks. Tasks include weeding, pruning trees with hand pruners, shredding branches, cleaning the chicken coop, or tidying up the shed. If you enjoy cooking, we would also love it if you could prepare a few meals for us (we’ll cover the costs).
Our garden isn’t huge, but we both work a lot from home in care and education, so it can be hard to keep everything up to date. Extra help is very welcome!
It’s helpful if you have some experience with pruning, or are willing to look things up and discuss techniques with us. Most of the time, you’ll work independently, but sometimes we can join in, especially on weekends.
Accommodation
You’ll stay in our 35 m2 fully furnished guest apartment, which has its own entrance, bathroom, and kitchen. It’s cozy and comfortable.
. Accommodation is free, and you’ll be responsible for your own meals (except for the occasional meal you make for us!).
Collaboration and Skill Sharing
While most tasks are independent, there may be opportunities to share skills and work together, especially when pruning or discussing garden techniques. We enjoy teaching and learning new things, and are happy to exchange knowledge along the way.
