Welcome to Our Family Homestead in the Heart of Nature

We’re a family living a mindful, sustainable lifestyle surrounded by 18 acres (8 hectares) of magical woodland in the sunny southeast of Ireland. Our goal in hosting is to connect with like-minded people from around the world, sharing stories, skills, and experiences in a warm, welcoming environment.

We love to embrace life outdoors, living in harmony with nature, and learning new things together. By opening our home, we hope to create meaningful cultural exchanges, where we can learn from each other’s backgrounds, traditions, and languages.

What You Can Experience with Us:

Cultural & Language Exchange: Our children, Ron and Nika, are excited to practice their Swedish, so if you’re a native speaker, we’d love for you to help them with language practice in a fun, natural way. We’re also eager to learn about your culture, traditions, and stories.
Animal Connection: We share our lives with a variety of animals, including two horses and two ponies. If you’re interested in gentle, natural ways of interacting with animals, we’d love to exchange ideas and experiences.
Mindful, Sustainable Living: Join us in daily life activities that reflect our commitment to sustainability, such as preparing plant-based meals together, sharing cooking techniques from different cultures, and discussing ways to live more harmoniously with the environment.
Family Life & Creativity: Whether it’s reading stories, playing games, creating art, or simply enjoying time outdoors, there are plenty of ways to connect with us in meaningful, creative ways.
We’re excited to welcome you into our family, share what we’ve learned, and discover new perspectives from you in return. This is a place for connection, growth, and cultural exchange—where every day brings something new to learn and enjoy.

    With love,
Allen, Hannah, Ron, Nika, and Theia

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are and eclectic family of settled nomads. Fourth generation of Austrian Hungarian, Welsh, English, Finnish/Swedish to call beautiful Ireland home.
Always building, making art, music, engineering projects going on plus exploring philosophy, spirituality, ecology, almost every aspect to life. There is an extensive library of books here on art, music, philosophy, travel, gardening, literature etc. Along with a range of instruments including a very nice piano. We love life and try to have fun in everything we do while at the same time expanding our minds and spirits.

Past experience inclines us to mention, this is not a holiday destination but an exchange of equals. Give freely and you shall receive.

We love living a healthy, sustainable, and mindful life that embraces the outdoors while being kind to people and the planet. By opening our home to the world, we hope to connect with like-minded individuals who share our desire to learn, grow, and explore deeper meaning in life. Together, we aim to inspire one another to become the best versions of ourselves.

During your time with us, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in meaningful activities, from connecting with animals through natural horsemanship to exploring the beauty of our woodland. We love sharing our passion for sustainable living, nature, and creative projects—and we’re always excited to learn from our visitors’ unique experiences and ideas.

Our homestead is a magical family retreat nestled within 18 acres (8 hectares) of woodland in the sunny southeast of Ireland. Here, we embrace the beauty of nature and the joy of a shared, meaningful lifestyle. You’ll have your own secluded log house with unique features like a wood-fired Finnish sauna, an outdoor hot tub, and a natural swimming pool in the woods.

In addition to the peaceful woodland setting, we’re near the vibrant town of Gorey, just 7 km away—a ten-minute bike ride along a mostly dedicated cycle lane. Gorey is a charming town with cozy cafes, shops, and a friendly atmosphere, as well as great transport links to explore the surrounding Ancient East of Ireland.

We love exchanging knowledge and skills in a relaxed, collaborative way. Whether it’s learning about sustainable living, nature-based crafts, or creative upcycling ideas, there’s always something new to explore together. Our workshops are spaces for creativity and discovery, where you can share your interests or try your hand at new hobbies in a fun, supportive environment.

We follow a mostly plant-based diet with room for occasional treats (pizza night, anyone?) and share cooking duties as a family. Meals are a communal activity, and we love exchanging recipes and ideas from different cultures.

Above all, we value community, creativity, and a mindful approach to living. We’re excited to share what we’ve learned over the years and hear your stories, ideas, and perspectives. Whether it’s connecting with the animals, embracing the rhythm of woodland life, or simply enjoying meaningful conversations, we hope this experience will be as enriching for you as it is for us.

Ireland's ancient East. We are only a few minutes from the vibrant local town of Gorey. From here there is the most picturesque train journey to Dublin or Wexford town. Much to do in the vicinity, Loftus hall, Ireland's most haunted house, Hook lighthouse, the oldest in the world... way to much to mention.
Every week there are at least two or three trips to Dublin by car, so our guests could explore the city with ease.
Also our guests can freely explore the beautiful surrounding countryside, town and villages on our super long range DIY electric bikes.
