    Description

The Bog Conservation Area is situated in the beautiful Bungawalbyn catchment. There are 96.5 acres set aside as habitat and there are about 3 acres with home, guest accommodation and photographic/film studio. I am currently finishing a remodel of the studio, home and guest accommodation. I am also keen to get some more herb and veggie gardens happening near the new guest accommodation.

I do quite a bit of volunteer work myself for conservation groups and involved in filmmaking to help raise awareness about environmental issues. I love to travel but have found the perfect camping spot right here and would love to share this property with others so you can discover how special this part of the world is. I know what it's like when you find a gem of a place off the beaten track and this is one of those places. There is a great entertainment area with camp kitchen for everyone to use and hang out with pool table. One of the favourite features of the property is a quarter acre dam for swims on hot days.

The property is next to and surrounded by National Parks and State Forests. Only 45 minutes to Evans Head Beach with surfing, shops and secluded beaches. Evans Head has Broadwater National Park to the north and east and Bundjalung National Park to the south.

'The Bog' has three ecosystems on it, two of them endangered with extinction. The Coastal Emu which is an endangered population are active on the property situated next to the Bundjalung State Conservation Area managed by National Parks of NSW. The area is Australia's largest tidal pool with wetlands of national significance and high in biodiversity. The area is where sub tropical meets warm temperate. The property is considered coastal yet inland enough to get those species as well. There are many State Forests, National Parks and Reserves in the area to explore. The property is a 45 minute drive to Evans Head Beach, Lismore, Casino and about an hour to Grafton.

Gardening - the gardens are pretty well established and depending on what time of year will determine what needs to be done there. It ranges from planting seedlings, composting, mulching, weeding and even making new garden beds. I do have some irrigation work to complete so all the plants can get a drink.

Animal Care - Anyone who loves doggies and knows doggy massage, I'm sure Lilly, Junior, Zali, Zera or Echo would be into it.

Language Practice - I love learning words in different languages. I know a little bit of Greek and wouldn't mind improving on that as well.

Computers/internet - I always have stuff going on with the computers, video editing, backing up data, archive.

Building - Properties always require maintenance that involves some painting, staining and light carpentry handyperson sort of work.

Cooking/Shopping - People who get burned out on working in the gardens or painting could help cook and do a shop.

Help with Eco Project - This whole property is an eco project. 'The Bog' is high conservation value bush and has a covenant on it with NSW State Government's Biodiversity Conservation Trust as protected habitat. I intend to have this place go on in perpetuity as a place to stay for people who are interested in environmental science, organic methods of growing your own food and medicinal herbs. This is a project about community and 'going back to the old' way of living.

Art Project - There are many opportunities to use objects around the property to create art. The light here is amazing and nature photographers will love it.

General maintenance - Living on a property, there is always something that needs fixing.

Help in the house - General cleaning and maintenance

    What else ...

There are lot of bushwalking tracks around the area in the National Parks. There is the Bungawalbyn Creek for swimming or you can swim in the dam on the property. The 2km track on the property takes you through three ecosystems where you can see the changes in vegetation.

    The property is LGBTQI friendly.
