Description

I am currently working as a tree planter in western Canada. Our season is set to end Mid August, then I am free for another adventure!

I have been 'on the road' for two years now - with seasonal job breaks here and there. I love the lifestyle and community workaway has offered me.

I am looking to travel and get as many unique experiences as I can. I am a socially oriented person who works well in teams, but I am also very independent and look after myself.

I am looking for an adventure within community, I am very flexible and I adjust quickly to different environments. I love experiencing different cultures, especially through music, food and story/language exchanges.

During my travels, I have done various workaways in Canada, Iceland, Australia, Tanzania, and Malaysia so far. Some of the work I have done has been book archiving, some handy work (painting roofs & walls/gardening), as well as helping build a sustainable project on a sailboat. Some light yard work, waste collection disposal/composting, grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning, child care, pet and house sitting... and some other odd/random tasks! I am open for any kind of work and would love to keep expanding my experiences. My employment history has mostly been in hospitality and various customer service management roles. Most recently, I stayed at a workaway in Australia which turned into a hostel management role for 6 months. I am a tree planter, and not scared of muddy bush work.

I am a film photographer and hobby filmmaker as well! I hold a diploma in photographic arts with a specialization in analog photography. I am especially happy to share this interest if it piques any curiosity.

I love scuba diving! I am an advanced open water diver, and I will be doing my rescue diver DM course in the near future :)

I have recently gotten into long distance bike touring - would love to share tips, experiences or just chat about crazy travel stories (and dogs that chase you)
