    Description

We are a family of three (plus a cute dog and bunny) who live on the Sunshine Coast of BC. We have a big garden and a beautiful, cozy, self-contained cabin for a work away who can help us with daily childcare and other light work. We homeschool our 10 year old daughter and would love help with that adventure primarily.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are a family of artists and animal scientists. We love growing food, creating, and making delicious meals together and in general, having fun. We are happy to share what we know with our workawayers.

    Help

We would like childcare help for our homeschooled daughter who is 10. She’s really sweet and loves to play piano and do art. We live near the beach and town so there is lots to do and explore. Other light work would be appreciated around the house (like dishes when you’re here with our daughter or tidying up). We (the parents) are able to show you all sorts of things - we grow lots of our own food, mum is an animal scientist, dad is a carpenter, sculptor and soil scientist. We are vegetarian and love to cook yummy food. Love music and laughter. Dad works on neighbouring island during the day and mom works from home for 4-5 hours a day, sometimes going into the city to the University. Our work away would have their own little home (with wood burning stove + other heating sources) but we’d treat them like family - they would be welcome with us anytime.

    Accommodation

We have a gorgeous, cozy, fully contained and furnished wood cabin that our workaway will live in on their own. It is on our property near our home. It has heated floors and baseboard heat, a wood burning stove, large screen TV, internet and a double bed, as well as a fully operating kitchen and a small outdoor deck.

    What else ...

We live within walking distance of a stunning beach and are close to old-growth forests. This is an eclectic community full of artists and musicians and is a dream for those who love nature. We live close to a cidery (Bandity) as well as bus stops and shops.
