    Description

Hi! I am Emma, in my late thirties and a mother of a little girl in primary school. I studied art and am setting back up my life drawing classes that I took a break from once I had my daughter. I'm hoping to get back into my art practice and that's why I'm looking for someone to come stay so that I can spend more time on that. I'd also love for my daughter to learn about another culture through the experience. We are in our home in Cork most of the time but do visit family in Dublin and Donegal and west Cork from time to time t weekends and on school holidays. So our guests would be welcome to join us on those trips if they want to see more of Ireland.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We live in the heart of the city and right beside museums and galleries, a few minutes walk from the house. Cork City itself is a very lively city with lots of people coming to visit and several colleges and a large university. There is so much happening here all year round. Beautiful parks, walks, restaurants, and pubs. tapas restaurant right next door and an award-winning music venue on the same street. The street has won the best urban community award and has a very friendly vibe. With a street festival every October.

I have a very open social and playful three-year-old daughter who goes to play school on weekday mornings but I would like someone to play with her in the afternoon for a few hours a day and do some babysitting once a week after she has gone to sleep as I run an evening life drawing class.

I also would like to focus on my own art practice again after taking time out to be a full-time mum. So I'm looking for someone to help with the general cleaning tasks around the house to allow me to spend more time on that. If our guest has an interest in cooking and wants to share cooking we would love to learn about other cuisine but its not an essential requirement.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Large bright room with desk and double bed, newly decorated painted, and carpeted. Terraced three-story house in a historical preservation area. We make dinner at 5 every day and the fridge is stocked up so our guests can help themselves. We are vegetarian and would like it if our guest is too but it's not essential. We don't mind if people eat meat in the house just maybe use different pans to cook if possible.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There is so much to do in Cork City that a simple google will bring up so many good options and plenty of buses and trains to take if our helper would like to take day trips further afield to seaside beaches towns such as Kinsale and Fota wildlife park.
