    Description

An extra opportunity to lear for you: this spring I'm going to create new hedges. You can see and learn how to make a laying hedge, a willow fence, winter windbreaks, and also, if interested, electric fences.
Very useful for people who plan to keep animals in future.

My name is Joanna and I run a tiny organic farm in Southern Poland. I grow mainly vegetables to feed myself. At the moment the farm is not oriented on food production, but on educational projects and implementing improvements on energy saving, water management etc. My aim is to increase the fertility of the soil and produce high quality food for humans and animals on long term. I develop my farm in accordance with permaculture principles to achieve a harmonious coexistence with the environment: care for the Earth, reduce waste, obtain reasonable productivity with reasonable effort.

If you have technical skills (electricity/pv/construction with wood) there are possible projects to accomplish (walpini, rainwater system, ponds, fences).

The farm is located in a very clean area among the hills, the house is surrounded by a forest with a stream and fields, it is very quiet. 4 sheeps, two cats and a dog live on the farm.

I prefer couples of whichever genres, but please note most of the work in the farm requires certain stamina, except perhaps from housekeeping work.

My region is traditionally agricultural, and I do not use solutions typical of industrialized modern agriculture. The farm is small and many works are done by hand. In return for help, I offer learning the principles of permaculture, the operation of ecosystems and my agricultural knowledge. In case of interest, it is possible to jointly perform various projects, which I postpone for lack of time: solar greenhouse, Hugelkultur garden bed, solar fruit dryer, herbal spiral etc. Also rest in an ecologically uncontaminated place and walks in the forest, bike, unforgettable views.

In the summer season, help in field work, planting, care and harvesting is useful. Sometimes you need to improve the fence, or arrange the area. I look after the animals because it is my passion, but if you like to spend time with them, you can also take part in specific works. In times when I have the most field work, I also need support in the kitchen.

    Accommodation

One room available, access to the kitchen and shared bathroom. The house is wooden, from 1931, with clay plaster . I prefer sharing cooking duties, because when I have a lot of work in the field, I usually do not have time to cook so sharing kitchen duties will be very helpful. I can cook vegan. Some of the vegetables and groats will surely be available from my garden.
Optionally you can use your tent/camper.

The house is located outside the center of the village, but you can move around by bike in the immediate area. In the neighborhood there is a horse stud. Tourist attractions, several wooden churches listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, interesting rock formations, a large forest with mushrooms and a lookout tower. Location rather for people looking for peace. We can practice yoga or taichi chen together.
Getting to Krakow by plane, from Krakow by train or by bus, last 10 km by my car.
