  • Description

    Description

    City: El Bolson
    Province: Rio Negro
Type of property: organic farm / Chacra orgánica
    Size (ha): 7.3
Crops: chickens, bees, vegetables, fruit trees
    We speak: English, Spanish, Russian

Description: We are looking for a responsible volunteer to carry out some farm tasks. As well, we could use help with house projects . This is not a commercial farm, but an effort to achieve a certain degree of food self-sufficiency. We prefer someone who is very good with his/her hands.

The farm is strikingly beautiful, in a rural area 15 km north of the town of El Bolsón. There is a bus service to town three times a day. If you are a conscientious person, like clean air, eating some organic foods, hiking, canoeing, or beautiful vistas, you might enjoy staying with us for a while.

Accommodation: A beautiful, separate, bedroom and bathroom with all the facilities, including internet access, wood stove and electric heater, hot water, full kitchen, washing machine, refrigerator, linen, fantastic view. No TV and no smoking inside the house. We include three meals a day. You cook it, you can eat it!

Food: We buy or provide food for volunteers of the same high quality we ourselves eat and were flexible about sharing meals.

We are: A retired couple (a high school paraprofessional and a university professor) who moved to Argentina from the USA in 2008.

When to come: Anytime, for a minimum of ONE WEEK.

Additional comments: 1. Language is not a barrier--we will consider someone who does not speak a word of English, Russian or Spanish. 2. Access by foot to many hiking trails.

Children: No. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate children.

    What else ...

There is plenty to do here on your time off! Sit and enjoy the beauty and the quiet. Walk out the door and head to the mountains and refugios. We are a few minutes walk to a small river and swimming hole. El Bolson is an interesting town, full of things to do and of course the famous art feria three times a week. We go to town two to three times a week and we can always make arrangements for volunteers to come along. We have a bus that is nearby, but you need to walk a bit to get to it, so it's much easier to come with us.
