Description
We have a small permaculture farm in Slovakia, where we (Miroslav and Vladimira) raise our little daughter. The main goal of our farm is self-supply. We grow vegetables and fruits, keep animals (mostly poultry, sheep and goats). We build ponds to increase bio-diversity and accumulate water and plant trees to turn a former hay meadow into a forest garden.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Travellers could experience life in Slovak countryside and learn about permaculture. We would be glad to share with them our story as a kind of "downshifters". Sometimes, other people visit us and this would be also a great opportunity for travellers to meet different people.
Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
What we do on our homestead is very diverse and so is the work travellers can help us with. Sometimes, we need someone to help us with building or carpentry work, sometimes we need help with the care for animals or with the garden work. And sometimes playing with our daughter would be the greatest help.

We have a new caravan with two single beds that can be combined into a double-bed. The caravan has also a small kitchen, toilet and shower. Food will be provided and will come mostly from our farm. We also eat meat but we will be happy to prepare vegetarian food.
What else ...
Our farm is located near the town of Brezno and there is regular transport (bus and train) available (the stop is at a distance of about 2 km from the farm). There are lots of places to visit during the time off, including the Low Tatra mountains.
