    Description

Do you have plans for april, may and june?

We are looking for people to join us for the Spring and summer period! Join our Spring Garden Project & Festive Market at Bekkelund Gård! 🌸🍕
We are a small family living on a charming farm just 20 minutes outside of Oslo, and we are looking for volunteers to join us for an exciting spring season! 🏡🌳🌸 We are a family of 5 (Kjetil 39, Caroline 35, Jonathan 11, Ellie 8, and Veslemøy 3).

The Project: Building a Garden Dream 🏡🌳
When we aren't running the market, we are busy with a massive garden transformation designed by a landscape architect. We are looking for people who enjoy physical work and like to see results.

We are also hosting our next farmers market on May 10th and 11th. Our last market was a huge success, and our Workawayers had a blast!
No experience? No problem! As long as you bring a smile and a "can-do" attitude, we will teach you everything you need to know. English is perfectly fine, as almost everyone in Norway speaks it fluently.

Tasks in the garden will be:
    Laying stone tiles and paths.
Making a new pool area. ( Ihave a digger machine)
    Building an outdoor kitchen (carpentry).
Planting flowers, shrubs, and creating green zones.

Life at the Farm & Community 🤝
You won't be alone! We usually have several Workawayers staying at the same time, which creates a wonderful, international environment.

Social Life: We love a good community vibe. At least once a week, we all cook and eat dinner together. If you love cooking food from your home country, we would love to taste it!

Accommodation: You’ll stay in your own apartment in the barn. It’s a simple, "rustic" standard, but it has everything you need: electricity, a kitchen, and a bathroom with a shower.

Flexibility: We want you to feel like part of the family. Since market weekends are high-energy, you’ll get extra time off during the week to explore the beautiful sights of Oslo.

Start date: As soon as possible! we need people from april until june :)
If you are proactive, handy, and ready for a memorable spring in Norway, send us a message. We can’t wait to meet you!

    Best regards,
KJ, Caroline, and the family at Bekkelund.

As mentioned I have my ceramic studio on the farm, so you are welcome to explore and make some ceramics while you are here! Our area is a beautiful area by the sea - a lot of hiking trails, beaches, shops - and a direct ferry going to Oslo in 25 minutes. The perfect location if you ask us!

  • Help

    Help

We always have small projects going on the farm that we need help with , this will of course be different during the four seasons we have here in Norway. For the fall coming we need help in the garden
    - preserving food
    - harvesting apples and juicing
    - help with cooking
    - weeding and cutting grass
    - painting

As we have three small kids and we both work a lot its a must that you feel comfortable helping on your own or with your partner. But both Caroline and Kjetil are present on the property all week normally. Sometimes we have other workers on the farm that you need to cooporate with also.

you will mostly make your own meals in your simple workaway kitchen, i provide food in your Fridge. Some days we all eat together for dinner also, but Mainly you will cook what you want.

    Weekends you are free
