We spent two weeks on Caroline and Kjetil’s farm, and it was an unforgettable experience! We got to work on tasks we had never tried before, so we learned a lot during our stay. The variety of activities we took on—including sanding ceramics, baking, insulating, and building a concrete base—kept things interesting, and everything was explained

Helping out at the autumn market was a special experience, and we’re especially grateful to Caroline for letting us make our own ceramic pieces! Work was always more enjoyable when Pepsi the cat showed up for a quick cuddle. We shared several meals with the family and other workawayers, and these dinners were filled with good conversations and laughter. We were lucky to have an amazing team of fellow workawayers and are especially thankful to have met Mia, Luca, Hannah, Konstantinos, and Violin, who are all incredible people.
Caroline and Kjetil shared many interesting stories about Norway, and both are energetic, warm people with a beautiful family. The farm itself has a lovely atmosphere, and the location is ideal, just 40 minutes by bus from Oslo.
Our two weeks here were busy but filled with memorable moments. We would go back anytime!
Amazing people with great energy!! We loved having them. Super chill, easy to work with, hard working, motivated, energetic. Would recommend 100%
We spent a week on Caroline and Kjetil's farm, and it has been a fantastic experience. They recieved us with open arms and made us feel at home in their beautiful place. They are easy people to talk with, and we had interesting conversations about Norwegian habits.
The work is interesting and clearly defined. The day starts with coffee at 9 am,

We mostly laid the foundations for a garden shed, and helped in the ceramics workshop. The tasks are mostly practical, and there are plenty of professional tools to complete them succesfully. Whenever a decision needs to be made, Caroline and Kjetil are available so you're never stuck.
The farm is a welcoming place for people from all over the globe. We spent most of our time with the other workawayers from Canada, Australia and the Philippines. We took turns cooking the food we requested Caroline to get for us, which was a very interesting cultural exchange.
The location is perfect for visits to Oslo or the fjord, and we could use Caroline and Kjetil's bikes to get around. We were even lucky enough to see Northern lights over the farm!
We definitely recommend this Workaway. Thanks to the family!

I would like to thank Caroline and Kjetil for these two wonderful weeks spent on the farm. We had a great time whether it was during meals, during work or at any other time. If I had to use just 2 words I would say: fantastic experience. I spent two extraordinary weeks with Caroline, Kjetil and the children. they are a very open and kind family, available for everything. they have a beautiful farm not far from Oslo, surrounded by nature and with the sea just a stone's throw away.
They have always nice, interesting and

I was sad to only have to stay for two weeks but I would like to return in the future if possible to have another similar experience or even just to say Hello.
Thanks for everything.

We stayed with Caroline and the family for one week in June. Unfortunately, we had to leave after one week due to my busy freelance schedule. Sorry about that again, guys! During our stay, we really liked the jobs in the garden, like filling the veg boxes, planting seeds, making wood chips, watering the flowers, etc. The tasks were very varied and
… read more Caroline and Kjetil always made sure everything was clear. They also gave us a lot of freedom in planning our work days, which was very convenient with my online job. Furthermore, we had the opportunity to listen in on one of Caroline's ceramic workshops, which was super interesting. :) We did feel quite distant from the family at times. We stayed in the volunteer appartement where we cooked our own food. Which was fine, but we only shared one meal with the family in a whole week. We would have liked to connect with them more, as we're sure they had very interesting things to share. So we think this is a good fit for a couple or two friends who like a lot of time on their own and work independently. I had a wonderful time staying with Caroline and her family, and I genuinely wish I could have stayed longer. Unfortunately, my visa was expiring. From the moment I arrived, they were incredibly kind and welcoming. They even greeted me with a delightful dinner in their beautiful garden, where we had a lovely chat. Working alongside Caroline and

Through this, I gained valuable knowledge about gardening and farming. Now, let me tell you about their kids! Oh my, they are simply the sweetest. Ellie, in particular, captured my heart with her charm, and Eliza the au pair was also very nice. Moreover, I appreciated the convenience of reaching Oslo easily. The bus stop was only a 4-minute walk away. Overall, I had an amazing experience with Caroline and her family. They were hospitable, the work was enjoyable, and I had the chance to learn new skills. I highly recommend staying with them!

I had the opportunity to stay with Caroline and her family for 3 weeks between February and March. The family was lively and although at first I felt a little distant from the family, I eventually got the chance to really bond with them. I got the chance to play some uno and mario kart with the family and shared some nice dinners with them. I wish

During my stay I also met other great volunteers there as well as their au pair, and had many great experiences with them as well. As for work it other than doing daily items like feeding and caring for the chickens as well as collecting wood, I had the chance to trim some apple trees and to paint some doors and window frames during my stay. The location was also great for taking day trips to Oslo, but I found myself charmed by the wonderful neighbourhood that I was living in and was simply happy to walk the streets nearby. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay with the family and look forward to perhaps seeing them for another round of uno with the kids if our paths ever cross again! You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

I stayed with Caroline, Kjetil, Jonathan, Ellie, the awesome baby and Eliza for three weeks in January and I had a great time. I arrived while they were still traveling back from holiday so I was welcomed by the au pair Eliza and shown around. By communicating with messages I was able to do some small jobs awaiting their return. Once they were

Some of the things I did were: organizing the barn, taking care of the chickens on a daily basis, cleaning the chicken house, helping Caroline in her atelier and painting some stairs. In the weekends I was free to travel to Oslo which can be reached by bus that almost stops in front of the house. The workaway room was situated in the barn and equipped with all the necessities. If you are looking for a place close to Oslo I would greatly encourage you to stay here! You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

My time there was really great! I stayed there a bit more then two weeks, but i wish i could have stayed longer. From the first day on i felt welcomed and they literally spred good vibes! They tried to invite me in their daily routine, even if there are busy most of the time. E.g. going to a local market or taking part of one of Carolines ceramic
… read more lessons:) I mostly worked outside, like harvesting or weeding, but the tasks where varied, so not everyday the same. On the farm you'll never be alone, especially in the evening and you should really like kids because there are many kids playing and running around. For me it was nice, cause i like kids and Johnathan and Elli are really kind and funny. But also Eliza, the au pair girl of the family is at home most of the time, so you have always someone to talk to:) There are a really kind, caring funny and spontaneous family. I loved the food Caroline made, even for me as a vegetarian. It's always fresh and also a lot directly out of the garden. Particularly i liked her selfmade bread and cinnamon rolls:) In my freetime it was easy to get anywhere, cause the bus and ferry station is around 10 min away. There is a lot to explore, if it's Oslo or many pretty hiking places, or Islands around and the beach is only 10min away.
All in all i really enjoyed my stay with the family and i am really exited how the farm will develop in the future. I can really recommend the place! You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
