Hello! My name is Kaemyn, I'm 19 years old, and am getting ready for a 4 month trip across Europe.

I am a very curious, positive, and social young adult who is excited to get a taste of the world and all the unique experiences it has to offer. I am super adventurous, and love to explore new places, especially peaceful mountaintops, deep forests, secluded lakes, hidden beaches, endless plains, or simply a local collectors store of old art pieces or a cafe.

I enjoy cooking , meeting new people, and playing card/board games to connect with others. Above all, I love to learn. About anything and everything. Whether it be a useful skill like how to build something, paint, cook, garden, survival skills, or learn something creative like cultural traditions, games, party tricks, life advice, arts and crafts. I have a yearning for learning, and am happy to help out however you need.

My friends often consider me a contemplative philosopher the way I question the world around me as I attempt to build myself from the inside out. This is a big part of why I have decided to do volunteer work across the world - to learn about different cultures and others' unique lifestyles, whilst learning new skills along the way. I was raised on the value of being a good person with healthy morals and beliefs. It's what's on the inside that counts; and so I really want to make it count. I always strive to be a better version of myself daily, and would love the opportunity to prove that.

Coming from Australia, I'm first visiting Ireland, as I have Irish ancestry and have been drawn to the old heritage sites and buildings. Moving on to the Nordic countries (mainly Norway, Sweden, and Finland), I've always been fascinated by not just the beautiful landscapes, but the secret behind being ranked high as some of the happiest, safest, well educated countries in the world. I grew up on the Sunshine Coast (Queensland, Australia), a small, regional, beach-focused town, where I've climbed every mountain, swam every beach, visited every local odd-shop, and walked every trail. Whilst I learnt to love the warm afternoon beach-swims, there is little diversity of culture, and I'm looking to spread my wings.

Having completed high school in 2024, I've spent the last year working as a bartender/supervisor at a restaurant, with the goal of earning money for this trip.

As I have learnt to cook for myself, I enjoy cooking for myself and others (though I'm not very good) so would love to learn some new recipes and tips & tricks. I participate in the general cleaning and upkeep of the house, have attended to the garden for whatever my mother's newest plant arrangement is, and have helped my father in the basic construction of a new project.

This being the beginning of my journey, I have a limited set of skills, in which (given the opportunity) I look forward to expanding throughout my trip. With a yearning for learning, I am happy to help out however you need, whether it be learning to: build something; paint; gardening and horticulture; cooking; arts and crafts, or any other task needed. I tend to ask a few questions, but I promise my eagerness, determination, and positive attitude will prove useful as I learn a new skill.

What else ...

I love playing card games, and would be delighted to beat you in Rummy (yes, that's a challenge). My goal outside of travelling is to become a screen actor, in hopes to inspire others. I also have a passion for creative writing, sweeping good grades and awards for English throughout school, as I hope to one day write my own scripts.

I'd love to learn to be more creative, whether that be in recreational painting, playing an instrument, singing, dancing, crafts, or poetry. I would also take an interest in tapping into some spiritual practices, such as meditation, yoga, and mindfulness.
