***UPDATE ---> At this moment everything is obviously quite unclear if we can start end of April/May, but we'll keep you up to date***
We are a NGO based in The Netherlands working with youngsters who struggle a lot in society. We are currently expanding towards a second location in Portugal in order to give local youngsters a place to develop themselves and re-enter society as an individual full of self esteem.
The help we need will be focused on the project in Portugal.
Help with Eco Projects
DIY and building projects
Creating/ Cooking family meals
Help around the house
We make a lot of time for artistic expression so everyone with any kind of skill is free to express theirs. People from different cultures will join in and we are in close contact with the locals of the nearby village. During the helping hours you'll be working closely with trained professionals there is a lot to learn in eco building and agricultural practices by just doing and by participating in workshops.
For the upcoming season starting in April with the duration of 6 weeks. The project consists of eco building, maintaining the vegetable garden and artwork. Anyone with affinity regarding these jobs are obviously welcome. Building will be a big chunk of the help where multiple people will be working on simultaneously.
Because we work with quite some people our preference is anyone who is willing to stay the whole six weeks. There are a lot of things going on and it takes some time to get used to the rhythm of this place.

As we're hosting multiple people, we have some tents with mattresses and bedding available. We're also working on a solid accommodation witch can provide a nice and comfy sleeping quarter. That will be ready before the workshop starts.
Food will be provided 7 days a week. Three times a day. Workawayers will be expected to work 5 days 4~5 hours a day.
In your spare time you can enjoy so many different tracks up and around the hills. There are beautiful hikes to different villages. We live next to a beautiful river which leads to a quaint village in another valley. The first village you encounter is on a 30 minute walk away and there are several bars and two small supermarkets, a bus connection to Guarda.
