Description
We are a small family in Whitehorse, Yukon. My wife (Asha) is a massage therapist who practices in our basement. I work in IT at Yukon University. We have a young daughter who will be 3 this summer.
We love the Yukon outdoors, the trails behind our house, gardening, camping in the summers and winter sports.

Help around the house

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are learning the ropes of simple permaculture techniques in our garden. We also enjoy foraging for berries in berry season. Camping and hiking, as well.
Michael works at Yukon University and often there are Indigenous workshops to learn traditional skills, as well as talks about research that is being conducted in the Territory. He can let you know about upcoming events at the University and help arrange transport.
Au Pair Help
This host is looking for Au pair help.

Help
We would like help around the house, cooking, gardening, short periods of childcare and DIY projects depending on the workawayers particular skills.

Languages
Languages spoken
Spanish: BeginnerThis host offers a language exchange
We are hoping to learn some Spanish as a family, as we will be traveling to a Spanish speaking country within the next year.
Accommodation
We have a spare room, which is located in the basement. It is a private space tucked away from the rest of the house, so you will be able to have quiet time away from our family when needed.
We like to eat a shared dinner. Dinner is our main meal of the day and the time when we all get to sit together at the end of a busy day and catch up.
Kitchen is shared, and we will do shared meal times. We can accommodate most food allergies etc. just let us know beforehand.
What else ...
We live in one of the few areas in Whitehorse with more reliable public transit (it is still not great, especially if you are coming from a part of the world with more developed public transit).
If there is anything specific you would like to do before you leave the Yukon please let us know and we can try to accommodate!
