Description
Hey and welcome to Malaysia! :) We used to live in Cyberjaya and that’s where all my feedbacks are from but now my daughter and I are volunteering at Gibbon Conservation Society, an (and probably only) ethical conservation organization in Malaysia.
We are looking for individuals with skills and experience in wiring / repair tasks (general maintenance) or if you are a veterinarian. Kindly assist our existing staffs (about 8) to support, teach and train them in the areas above and the following areas below ;
Add on skills : permaculture gardening (we can assist), upcycling projects, video editing, teaching.
My daughter and I are currently teaching English to the indigenous community (adults and kids) here and I’m also taking care of gardening and some other tasks.
What we can offer ;
1. Bicycles (need servicing)
2. River kayak
3. Slackline usage
4. Jungle trekking
5. Wildlife spotting
(We have tonnes of animals and insects and monkeys coming to visit daily)
6. A glimpse into the life of gibbons through daily encounters of our rangers (you will not be allowed to directly deal with the gibbons unless you are asked to).
Things you should know :
We will first have an online interview session.
No photos/videos unless you obtain written permission from our manager.
Accomodation ; You will be given a bamboo hut
Toilet : outdoor shared toilet
Bus to Raub town and from there we will pick you up.
Due to security reasons we cannot share exact location of site. And you cannot share it with anyone as well.
You will be required to sign an agreement.
Minimum one month
5 hours of help - but definitely enjoyable
Food ; Lunch (plant based only) . Breakfast and dinner can be non plant based.
Nearest restaurant is 10mins drive away.
You must be a DOG lover as we have many dogs here.
