Description
Over 6 years ago I decided to trade in a busy job in projectmanagement to persue a life long dream with a downsized, sustainable way of living and sharing my dream with potential guests. Tucked away on a hilltop in the Southern part of Piemonte, I found some abandoned natural stone barns and departed on a renovation project.
I want to develop, grow and realize a small eco-resort for up to 14 guests surrounded by a food forest. So far I managed to create some apartments and I spent a lot of time converting a barren hill into a food forest based on man-made terraces with 150 fruit, almond and olive trees. My approach is permaculture based. I am no professional. I learn by doing and listening to nature. I love to cook, eat healthy and regular and experience with new recipes.
Downsizing a living a simple life surrounded by nature is no easy journey, but I love every aspect of it. I am in essence a hard-working man persueing a dream which will take many more years.
Until last year I could not really accommodate anybody, but now with the first apartments finished and the first experiences with guests, I realize more than ever that I would love to meet people who want to come and help me out. Different periods of the year call for different jobs.
January - April/May: I will expand the food forest with another layer of terraces (to be build) using natural materials, planting trees, perennials, flowers and creating a more extensive vegetable garden. Adding more natural pinds and water storage and distribution systems are part of the project. There are also many maintenance tasks on the property from painting to creating tachted roofs for pergola's.
May-September: I would love to have some help in hospitality so guests experience an awesome stay.
September-december: Cleaning up and preparing the gardens and food forest for winter.
Hope to find some interesting persons from different countries and walks of life who like to experience and explore a similar lifestyle. I have been a traveller for over a decade in my younger years and explored most of the world backpacking. In recent years you can find me taking trips with my camper van.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
If you love to grow and improve your skills or teach me yours and help me improve mine, this can be a stimulating and useful experience for you. It's a simple and sustainable life with oneself, yet with the perks of comfort. We share food, life, emotions, stories and humanity together and learn from and about each other. I love having deep conversations, have wide interests in live in general as well as history. I try to move towards natural farming techniques, work on permaculture design and preparation of healthy food.

Help
The land around the property is about 4 ha which I am slowly developing into an agro-foresty project. There are some older terraces and newly created terraces where I develop a food forest, grow a vegetable garden and flowers. The help I seek depends on the seasons. January-May and September-December I provide free accommodation and food. If you are interested to work with me through the high season (May-August) I provide free accommodation, food and weekly wage to be discussed (at least minimum wage in Italy). If you come here, I hope you can work 5 hours a day for at least 5 days.

Each language brings to the table a different way of life, cultural aspects ad history. I am fascinated by the cultural difference in lifestyle of views. Linguistically I would love to learn more French. Happy to share whatever practical knowledge I have myself.Accommodation
I can accommodate up to two persons in a space which still needs some work, but it has a shower, wood stove and wash basin. I have two common spaces where we cook and eat.
What else ...
I am located in the countryside. There are no big cities in the neighborhood. There is public transport available and twice a week I go into town. The Ligurian seaside is about 50 minutes away. Other known towns within an hour are Alba, the Barolo wine region. This is a place very suitable for walking, hiking and cycling.
