    Description

Over 6 years ago I decided to trade in a busy job in projectmanagement to persue a life long dream with a downsized, sustainable way of living and sharing my dream with potential guests. Tucked away on a hilltop in the Southern part of Piemonte, I found some abandoned natural stone barns and departed on a renovation project.

I want to develop, grow and realize a small eco-resort for up to 14 guests surrounded by a food forest. So far I managed to create 5 apartments and I spent a lot of time converting a barren hill into a food forest based on man-made terraces with 150 fruit, almond and olive trees. My approach is permaculture based. I am no professional. I learn by doing and listening to nature. I love to cook, eat healthy and regular food (pasta lunch!) and experience with new recipes.

Downsizing is easy. Now that my property i open to guests I have reluctantly embraced Social Media.. I am in essence a hard-working man persueing a dream which will take many more years.

Until last year I could not really accommodate anybody. Things changed a bit :) What you have to know and realize when coming here. I am in the middle of nature, usually in and around my property because there is always something to do.I like to work with people who have experience and can work independently. There is a small town, a 15 minute drive with supermarkets, farmacy, banks and some bars. Having your own transportation is pretty essential. If you come for a short period I guess we can work something out. There is a trainstation about 30 minutes away.

October-December 2026: Cleaning up and preparing the gardens and food forest for winter. I learned a lot from the draught this year so I need to make some changes in a way I will have my veggies protected in summer and have irrigation installed including IBC tanks scattered around the terraces. I also need to finish one apartment and my new sauna.

January - April 2027: Continue to prepare the terraces with woodchips, straw and hay. I also have a small rustic stone house which I will start to renovate hopefully in november 2026 and going all the way to april 2027.

I have travelled around the world for many, many years and now I just want to settle down here, If you have experience in any DIY you are welcome. Since I am alone there needs to be some kind of good understanding so I can't promise upfront that one can stay for weeks :) Contact me for more info and a video call.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

It's a simple and sustainable life with oneself, yet with the perks of comfort. We share food, life, emotions, stories and humanity together and learn from and about each other. I love having deep conversations, have wide interests in live in general as well as history.

The land around the property is about 4 ha which I am slowly developing into an agro-foresty project. There are some older terraces and newly created terraces where I develop a food forest, grow a vegetable garden and flowers. So some DIY skills or knowledge about gardening is necessary. I welcome woodworkers. We need to build pergola's and remember: It's a hill with terraces. Bringing woodchips or anything to the terraces requires extensive walking up and down :)

  • What else ...

    What else ...

I am located in the countryside. There are no big cities in the neighborhood. There is public transport available and twice a week I go into town. The Ligurian seaside is about 50 minutes away. Other known towns within an hour are Alba, the Barolo wine region. This is a place very suitable for walking, hiking and cycling. Your own wheels is almost a must. Campervan? Even better.
