Description
SORRY, TEMPORARILY ON HOLD:
Welcome to Minnesota! We are a couple of therapists living in the vibrant Uptown Neighborhood of Minneapolis and have a son presently workaway-ing in Germany. We have a comfortable house we share with two awesome orange tabbies (young Gulliver, a muscly, 16 lbs loverboy, and Zipper, an "old lady" lap cat). We need some help taking care of them while we do some traveling (in part to visit our son). We are close to restaurants and bars, outdoor iceskating in the winter (and a skatepark the rest of the year), and the Chain of Lakes, which is great for all kinds of outdoor activities.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
The Loppet Ski race happens right in the city on Jan 31st through Feb 1st, 2026 (if the snow holds).
We're up for cultural exchange, and if we overlap in our schedules, we're happy to speak English or German or Spanish and show you around the cities. Our extended family also has a cabin on the St. Croix River that we visit often and to which we love to take visitors.
Help
Our cats are pretty easy, with a feeding in the morning and another in the evening. The only one complicating factor in that the old lady cat needs to eat half her meal , wait a bit, then be fed the second half.
Our house is set up so that you can separate yourself from them at night, for example, if you don't want to sleep with them. If you do want to sleep with them, then everybody wins.

Accommodation
We are in a quiet residential area (mostly single family homes and duplexes) and have several bedrooms to chose from (upstairs, separate from the cats, or downstairs, with the cats). The house is from 1895 with great woodwork and has a large, recently-remodeled kitchen and dining room area that is great to hang out in. Washer and dryer and all other normal amenities.
We have lots of bikes to choose from and you can get almost anywhere in the Cities on dedicated bike paths (just depends on your cold-tolerance!). We are also only two blocks away from multiple bus lines.
You are welcome to cook as much as you'd like and we'll leave some staples for your use. There are grocery stores, etc., within walking distance (less then a mile away) and lots of restaurants and bars even closer.
What else ...
We appreciate almost all humans, no matter where they are from (we just don't tolerate racist, misogynistic, queer-phobic people, or gaslighters or generally mean & nasty people).
